Got any valuable ones? I grew up in the 60s and 70s and I have two full paper grocery bags full that I paid anywhere from .05 to .25. Some of them first run, first in the series. I guess some could be valuable.

I have some from the early 90s. I don't think I ever looked at them more than once.

My old man has the Spiderman comics from the 60s where Spiderman grew 4 new arms and fought Morpheus. I have about 200 comics, but they are all from the 90s and probably not valuable. Generation X #1 is worth nothing, LOL.

What do you have? Superhero, horror, Western, cartoon stuff?

The lowest cover price on a comic book was 10¢ and those were from the late 30's - 40's. If you have any of those, then yes, you could be sitting on a small fortune depending on what you have and the condition.

By the 1960's they were 12¢. That would include your early Marvel books and some key DC books that would be worth a pretty penny.

25¢ books were mostly late 60s through the 70s. At this point the collectors market was growing so there are a lot more copies in good shape floating around. Still, key issues like the first Wolverine, Punisher, and some X-Men from that time are worth 100s.

I own way more comics than I need. I'm the 90s I was collection g old Hulk, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four. Of course I was paying collector prices. Many have increased in value be really eBay kind of flooded the market. Where it used to be you had to hunt down books at comic shops, conventions, or even garage sales, now any issue you want is available on-line. Only the stuff in really good condition fetches price guide values these days.

At one time I had a bunch of really old X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Avengers..... Had a bunch of football cards too.... And then like a woman.... My mother tossed them out when I went off to college. I'm still pissed

Iron-Man-55.jpg

Miracleman 15 and Iron Man 55 are the cornerstones of my collection. The Iron Man has been climbing in value since the Avengers movies have made Thanos popular, IM 55 is his first appearance. I never bought books for value though, I always just liked reading a good story. Guys like Alan Moore, Jim Starlin, Garth Ennis and Grant Morrison are amazingly talented writers that don't get the recognition they deserve because they prefer their medium to be comics.

I became a father 4 years ago so my disposable income has been diverted away from comics but if I do buy a book these days I'll get a trade paperback, more content per dollar.

Walking Dead signed by Robert Kirkman..

Nice! I had a run of issues 12 through about 35 that I sold last year to get a little extra Christmas money, got $350 out of them. It was hard letting go of that first appearance of Michonne though.

Savage She Hulk #1 dated 1980. My wife and I were at a comic convention and she picked this one. This was actually our first comic purchase.

Daredevil 27 dated 1967. The Netflix series is really great and has actually made these comics spike in pricing.

The X-Men #38 dated 1967. It's cool to look through these and see ads for new cars selling for $585 and Marvel t-shirts for $1.99.

Yes they are. Now I'm wanting to go to Fan Boys here in Wilmington tomorrow and catch up on the stuff I've missed the last few months.
