How you gonna start a thread and you ain't even helping
I had every intention of painting but between unexpected events at work and with my son im not going to be able to get out there. Ppl dont realize its not a quick thing to do. Between travel to and from the rock, trip to home depot and the actual time it takes to paint its about a 4-5 hour investment. Also im pretty glad i didnt do ktnow seeing how negative some of you bastards are. Good lord. Its not an easy thing to do. Its a huge and uneven surface and most ppl, myself included, dont posses much artistic talent. Could it have been cleaner and better organized? Yes, but lets not completely disregard these kids efforts. Everyone on here talks a lot of trash but other than a small handful of ppl, ive rarely ever had much help actually painting it.

I made a little fun earlier but it wasn't serious. Thanks guys.
For large uneven surfaces, the stencil method can be a life and time saver.
Poster board for medium areas and I have a few 4 x 300' rolls of paper for larger areas.
"create" in a controlled enviroment, then stick and spray. Or cheat as I like to call it when I do so.
Yeah, I would like to second this. I think that most of the comments are slightly tongue-in-cheek. It's definitely appreciated, and it is easily better than not having a painted rock at all. While it may be a bit rough, that's definitely to be expected from people without rock-painting skills.
Problem is it looks like crap and its on the weekend before national signing day. Literally our last chance to impress recruits and some kids thought they could go help out by painting the rock. Don't paint the rock unless you have someone with some experience in...ya know...art? Or common sense (like someone who knows how to measure and get letters/lines straight)? Or has done this before? These kids went at it like a bunch of amateurs so this is what we get.
Not even going to give them an A for effort because they are probably some stupid freshmen from some local frat. And I hate stupid freshmen from local frats. So yeah I hope someone fixes this. Since we're Tennessee and we only strive for the best of the best and....someone please do it! The Rock is too good of a recruiting tool to use it like this....
