Broadcaster just said, "Tennessee is one of the best in the country at getting to the freethrow stripe...I think Tennessee has the best talent overall in the SEC. Kentucky has 2 or 3 studs but you just go 10 deep down Tennessee's roster..all those dudes can play now. Tobias Harris is a freshman the country doesn't know enough about yet." was shocked to see UT love on ESPN!

Jimmy Dykes is awful. Looks like "violent cuts" is the money phrase for this game. Not sure why I don't have the game muted to be honest with you.

Man I wish we could play UK early in the SEC schedule before they get things rolling. We are so much more physical it's not even funny. Aside from Jones, they are getting pushed around up and down the floor. They desperately need Kanter.

We may be good at getting to the stripe....not good at making them though

Can't be. It's well known that ESPN employees have an anti UT clause in their contracts.

The center position is dragging our average down, but everyone else is hitting them fine. Our top four in attempts are:

Harris, 26-39, 67%
Tatum, 24-35, 69%
Hopson, 24-34, 71%
Goins, 17-21, 81%

The only real negative is that the three-man combination of Williams, Fields, and Hall is getting to the line slightly more than any other combination and missing too many. But the other positions are getting to the line also, and performing well once there.

We need each of those guys to improve by 10%. Straight up.

Mcbee doesnt get many attempts but he is great at free throws.

If those are the four best we have, those numbers aren't nearly good enough.

I don't follow college hoops as closely as I'd like early in the season -- how is Bruce's half-season suspension going to affect us in conference?

Sat, Jan 8 @Arkansas
Tue, Jan 11 vs #24 Florida
Sat, Jan 15 vs Vanderbilt
Tue, Jan 18 @ Georgia
Sat, Jan 22 #6 Connecticut (Not suspended)
Wed, Jan 26 vs LSU
Sat, Jan 29 @ Mississippi
Thu, Feb 3 @ Auburn
Sat, Feb 5 vs Alabama

Luckily our opening conference schedule has a soft underbelly.

Florida has looked worse than expected, and having them at home is a big plus. Vandy is our toughest SEC opponent in this stretch and again, playing them in TBA will help offset the suspension.

In the beginning of the season, we thought UGA was going to be tough but now they look schizo, and certainly soft enough to be taken down at home.

The SEC West teams is pretty pitiful. LSU is terrible, Auburn is even worse, and Bama is only slightly less bad. Ole Miss would be a good chance for a loss in Oxford.

5-3 at worst. I'll say 6-2.

I like having UCONN in the middle with Pearl on the sideline. And Slive was gracious enough to allow Bruce to come back when we go to Rupp immediately following Bama.

Helps that this is UK team is significantly less scary than last year's team, and maybe even on par with the NIT 'Cats of 2008-2009. I say that simply because I don't know if their talent will be able to overcome their severe lack of experience.
