The mark of the beast "666" is the Greek numeric value for the name "Nero."

It was about Nero and the persecution of Christians within Rome. References to "Babylon" were thinly veiled references to it's then modern equivalent: Rome.

Joevol, believe what you want, but people have been claiming that "this is it" for 1,000 years. It isn't it. "It" is a figment of a misunderstanding of context and meaning.

you obviously don't read or study it and have no clue what your talking about. trying to compare Rome with what Revelation says is so inacurate, it's sad.

This is absurd, if you were a christian living during those times you would have been 100% convinced Revelation was speaking of the Roman Empire and that the prophecy would have been fulfilled in your lifetime.

Of course it hasn't. It's also not about USA. It was most likely about Nero's Rome.

How dare you bring up history when it comes to arguing about revelations.

There is absolutely no way that the "prophecy" from revelations has already happened.

Ok, people, time-out.

Pet peeve. It's the Book of Revelation, not Revelations. Please, for my sanity call this the correct name.

Time-in.

Who is the more accurate image of the current conservative movement -- BPV, who describes Obama as a phony and misdirected in economics, or joevol who skips all the hard concepts and tries to link Obama to Revelations, end times, Secret Agent Muslim man, and the like?

I would posit that the mainstream GOP is in the BPV camp. I would also submit that the Tea Party is comprised laregly of those in the joevol camp.

The joevol camp is a danger to the party, the country, and the planet on the whole, IMO.

I'bve no complaint with BPV-like politicans and leaders and welcome an exchange of argument and ideas with them. The joevols of the world need to go back to their medieval rock and climb back underneath it, go burn some witches, do some exorcisms, and maybe get back into animal sacrifice. Quit wasting the time of edicated folks and leave the running of the world to us adults.

Almost as sad as comparing what Revelation says with a country just over two centuries old?

So, you want the joevols of the world to leave things to the edicated folks like you?

Don't think he's the anti-Christ. Just a simple down to earth guy who likes going on the View, other talk shows, traveling to far away exotic lands, and if he has time, maybe he'll try his hand at running the country.

Tough to type on a blackberry with qwerty board crammed into such a tiny space.

I apologize if you couldn't figure something out, or if the big words scared you.

And I would disagree.

Does it really matter where he is?

Of course it does... it's something else for people to incessantly whine about.

I don't like BHO very much as POTUS, but it seems like there are enough legitimate flaws with his presidency that some people wouldn't have to piss and moan about things that don't matter.

Uber-right America: your PMS is over... ya'll won the midterms.

Someone with your alleged level of education should understand that calling someone else' education into question while misspelling "education" is somewhat ironic and does little to reinforce your point.
