Yea, he was acting realy classy. He was bouncing around like an idiot, while everyone in the country was calling him an fool.
JP needs to shut up and play instead of complaining about everything and talking smack all the time.

so I guess you weren't a big fan of Kiffin when he was here?

Look, JP was an outstanding high school player...This kid played amongst the toughest kids around...It aint no joke coming out of Memphis and being as hyped a player as he was...He was good enough to get Lute Olson's attention....He has the lineage, a cousin playing in the pros and a dad that played college ball and is/was a coach...He was a winner in high school as well...His White Station teams won three state titles in 3A ball...I want to like this kid, I really do...Yes, he does have a good number of assists..He also has 50 turnovers...Maze and Goins have 54 combined...He only averages around 9 ppg....He should be averaging close to 15...He can't shoot free throws and doesn't have a perimeter game...Oh, he hit those three consecutive threes against Vandy but the flippin' game was over, no pressure....How many times do you see Prince make really nice slashes to the hole only to dish off to some unsuspecting teammate and the possession ends in a turnover ??..It happens alot...He is not physical...He gets pushed around...Hell, Pearl does too but he puts up a fight at least...He will get in the passing lane and make a steal..He has real good instincts...He then goes down and dunks it like it was his first dunk of his life, not his 1,000th...Never has a foul been called on him that he doesn't act like there was a crime committed against him...Does that affect the game ??..Not really, it just shows where his head is....

I like the intensity. And he showed up to play the game, why do you care if he taunts other players? How the hell is that going to impact a game?

We need MORE of that attitude on this team if you ask me. What we lack is attitude. Ron Slay needs to come back and teach these guys how to properly demean and disrespect the competition.

Oh yeah, and someone needed to foul the refs last night. KY shoots 30 FTs and UT shoots 13...

Did you also notice the tremendous amount of shots they had blocked when they did get to the basket?

One thing I will say about UK's bigs is that they didn't leave their feet much, i.e., biting on any pump-fakes. So, when we did go up, they went with us. This is purely basketball strategy and differs for everyone, but I would rather our guards penetrate, dish, and us have the ability to lay it in compared to much contested outside jumpers. If the negative of that strategy is blocked shots, well, I guess it's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. Without true outside threats, we may have to work around a few blocked shots in order to create easy buckets.

The refs that called the Tennessee vs. Kentucky game should be fined or suspended in some fashion for that terribly called game. I cant count the numerous times they blew a call in this game. It was obvious they gave every call to Kentucky and anyone that watched that game could see it.

Yeah, I know. At one point I saw Bledsoe with a 2x4 plank, whacking people in the skull. I don't know how they missed it.

I've never seen someone jump right into a player's back(Cousins into JP) and going over for a rebound and it not get called. That was bush league

Funny how you never hear of anyone complainng about the refs after a win?

Yeah, its just a part of fan hood I guess. When its their team that takes the loss, people tend to search everywhere but where it counts.

Bad calls are made, and calls are missed, and its a part of the game whether your playing at Rupp, TBA, or a converted cafeteria gym at an elementary school.

Thats the worst called basketball game I've seen in the last five years. It was a terribly called game in every aspect.

The lack of Basketball IQ on this site is the only thing worse than last night's officiating (and yes I know I will now receive many immature and lame "put-downs").

First, the vast majority of the ppl on here bash J.P. Prince, one of the few players creating offense. Last I checked we haven't been posting incredible pt totals, I think we should be valuing offense, not demeaning it.

The scoring opportunities last night came when we were able to penetrate the lane, and either dish down-low or convert lay-ups. A downside is that we become susceptible to charges. We proved that that offense does work against Kentucky. For some reason many posters on here brawl-beat a kid who actually executed the offense. Nice.

I don't know how many times I have seen on here, "Why don't we play Maze and Goins together?" or "Why is Woolridge getting more minutes than Maze and Goins?"

Wow, do the ppl who post these comments have a clue about basketball. We have two point guards. TWO. That's it. If you haven't noticed, we're a bit short handed. One must play, and carry the entire ball handling load, and then other must come in and not miss a beat. What happens if one gets into foul trouble? You cannot be playing them at the same time, that's awful.

As for Woolridge, he's a big body. Is he great, of course not, but he's needed to give Chism some fresh air, and help out Hall. Perfect situation, no, but comparing his minutes to Maze and Goins is illogical, they serve different purposes.

As for the lack of rebounding on the defensive side, well, when you play a 3-2 zone, it's usually to have the opposite guard play strong help-side defense while also containing penetration. We did that well. The vulnerability is the offensive rebounding and transition offense. Kentucky did that well.

I agree very much with the notion that Hopson has not stepped up or lived up to much this season. Where's Jon Higgins shot selection when you actually have a good shooter...

And lastly, Pearl and McBee are walk-ons. You're out of your mind if you expect either to compete against Wall, Bledsoe, and Cousins. It's unrealistic and just because they are getting minutes doesn't make them overnight All-SEC players. We should be commending them on how hard they play and for competing every night, which they both do.

Please bash this post with intelligent basketball theory and/or strategy.

Great points! I don't get the JP haters either. He's not an all American but he's very athletic and hustles. I don't care much for his jawing with the other players but the kid works hard, apparently makes good grades (based on the academic patch on his uniform), and to the best of my knowledge has never gotten in trouble off the court. All in all, a very good, not great player that has helped us win several games. You can't always judge a book by it's cover...the "swag" etc. doesn't make him a thug or cry baby.

Speaking of fouls, talk to Vandy's game officials. 43 free throw attemps in each of the last two home games alone. Seems kind of high to me. But I do not pretend to know anything substantial about basketball. I'll leave that to you guys.

Generally on point, but he does not hustle at all.

Charge on oner of our players at the end of the game, when he was trying to lay up the ball on the front of the rim was lame. I can't remember which player is was but it was when we were still 6 down and right before the flood gates opened. UT player was under the basically rim.
