I'm still on the fence... would be traveling solo because it's too cold for my oldest child (8) and my wife would have to stay home with our 4 kids (youngest is 10 months). She insists that she doesn't mind me going, but I don't believe her. It'd be a 9.5-hour drive for me. Columbus is about 600 miles from Tupelo, so I'm estimating $200 in gas.... roughly $500 total for the trip. Worth it financially, but that's a lot of stress to put on the wife after I've already been traveling for work a good bit recently 😕

Re-read your second sentence..........all you need. Stay home with your family- not worth it...........signed married 39 years and counting :)

Sounds like you and your wife would probably both be exhausted, brother, just in time for Christmas hehe. I’d say if your gut is telling you to sit this one out, listen to it. And your intuition is likely correct: wives often don’t like to tell us no.

Those of us who live a little further north will cheer a little louder for you. Save that gas money for tickets to Atlanta next month. 😎

Hopefully your wife thinks of you as much as you think of her. Mine is coming with me for the 9.5 hour drive from NYC...with the Dog... we were supposed to take our mini-moon in Manhattan to see the tree and do the Christmas stuff but on Wednesday she said what does a trip to Columbus look like...so I hopped on it and got everything booked

Don't feel too bad for her we are going to the carribean in January lol

No tickets yet, no idea where to tailgate but we will figure it our after we leave at 2pm.

Although the one detail we won't compare...we have 1 child not 4..but this is the first ever playoff game for the vols and you will NEVER get to change that...

Prices keep dropping.
I will continue to monitor these sites and update them on the initial post thru Saturday morning for any late deciders about going to Columbus to access the price drops.

This is good advice. However, I just had lunch with the wife and she talked me into asking my brother-in-law if he wanted to go. Wife said she didn't want me going alone because she wants me to drive straight back after the game, so I won't be late for Christmas dinner with the fam. So I checked with bro-in-law and he is in. Me and him will take turns driving on the way back. My mom and sister can help with the kids if my wife needs them to. The whole family really stepped up. I'm almost in tears.

We are in Section 5AA.

I'm going. Dragging my bro-in-law up there with me. He's from Michigan. BIG Wolverines fan. We're gonna leave tonight after I give the kids a bath, sleep when we can and tailgate with volnation.com tomorrow.
