This really is good advice. She changed my mind over lunch but looking back at these messages now I feel bad. lol. tickets are bought but since I’m going with bro-in-law I think she’s cool with it.Re-read your second sentence..........all you need. Stay home with your family- not worth it...........signed married 39 years and counting
That’s awesome! This is good advice. However, I just had lunch with the wife and she talked me into asking my brother-in-law if he wanted to go. Wife said she didn't want me going alone because she wants me to drive straight back after the game, so I won't be late for Christmas dinner with the fam. So I checked with bro-in-law and he is in. Me and him will take turns driving on the way back. My mom and sister can help with the kids if my wife needs them to. The whole family really stepped up. I'm almost in tears.

I'm still on the fence... would be traveling solo because it's too cold for my oldest child (8) and my wife would have to stay home with our 4 kids (youngest is 10 months). She insists that she doesn't mind me going, but I don't believe her. It'd be a 9.5-hour drive for me. Columbus is about 600 miles from Tupelo, so I'm estimating $200 in gas.... roughly $500 total for the trip. Worth it financially, but that's a lot of stress to put on the wife after I've already been traveling for work a good bit recently

My wife actually had in her vows "In good football seasons and in bad" instead of sickness and health. Little did I know how many bad seasons were to come.( This was 22 years ago when it didn't even seem conceivable UT would have losing seasons) If she knew what was to come she probably wouldn't have gone through with it.This really is good advice. Man I’m seriously debating about driving up there tomorrow. I’m in Middle Tennessee and it’s about a 6 hour drive for me, that’s not bad at all. I could leave at 8am and get there in plenty of time.Anybody else waiting until the morning? I have waited all week just to see how far they drop before I grab two.
Absolutely do it, man. Once in a lifetime opportunity and I promise you’ll regret not going. There will be other games, but never the first, and most likely not somewhere like Ohio state. I made this decision with a little help from my wife and we just arrived at the hotel I'm Columbus a mile away at 3:30 am (after a 12 hour drive) and I haven't been this pumped about a Tennessee game since A&M last year cause that is the last one I went too....ready to make a showing tomorrow night!!Absolutely do it, man. Stay home for this one. 18 round trip with a young family . Make day of it at the house for 250.00 and dress the kids in orange . That's gonna suck. Up all day, game ending at midnight. Good luckThis is good advice. However, I just had lunch with the wife and she talked me into asking my brother-in-law if he wanted to go. I’m about to head to Columbus on a last minute decision. Me and a buddy are heading out now to join the orange invasion!!!! Now I gotta find tickets lol
I'm going. Dragging my bro-in-law up there with me. He's from Michigan. BIG Wolverines fan. We're gonna leave tonight after I give the kids a bath, sleep when we can and tailgate with volnation.com tomorrow.
Would be a miserable drive back if we get our a$$ kicked, too.Sounds like you and your wife would probably both be exhausted, brother, just in time for Christmas hehe. I’d say if your gut is telling you to sit this one out, listen to it. And your intuition is likely correct: wives often don’t like to tell us no.
Those of us who live a little further north will cheer a little louder for you. Save that gas money for tickets to Atlanta next month.
