This really is good advice. She changed my mind over lunch but looking back at these messages now I feel bad. lol. tickets are bought but since I’m going with bro-in-law I think she’s cool with it.

This is good advice. However, I just had lunch with the wife and she talked me into asking my brother-in-law if he wanted to go. Wife said she didn't want me going alone because she wants me to drive straight back after the game, so I won't be late for Christmas dinner with the fam. So I checked with bro-in-law and he is in. Me and him will take turns driving on the way back. My mom and sister can help with the kids if my wife needs them to. The whole family really stepped up. I'm almost in tears.

I'm still on the fence... would be traveling solo because it's too cold for my oldest child (8) and my wife would have to stay home with our 4 kids (youngest is 10 months). She insists that she doesn't mind me going, but I don't believe her. It'd be a 9.5-hour drive for me. Columbus is about 600 miles from Tupelo, so I'm estimating $200 in gas.... roughly $500 total for the trip. Worth it financially, but that's a lot of stress to put on the wife after I've already been traveling for work a good bit recently

Nevermind what I was about to say. Since it's a night game then you'd also need to factor in hotel.

Man I’m seriously debating about driving up there tomorrow. I’m in Middle Tennessee and it’s about a 6 hour drive for me, that’s not bad at all. I could leave at 8am and get there in plenty of time.

Stay home for this one. 18 round trip with a young family . Make day of it at the house for 250.00 and dress the kids in orange . Your 8 year old will have a blast with you watching

Sounds like you and your wife would probably both be exhausted, brother, just in time for Christmas hehe. I’d say if your gut is telling you to sit this one out, listen to it. And your intuition is likely correct: wives often don’t like to tell us no.

Those of us who live a little further north will cheer a little louder for you. Save that gas money for tickets to Atlanta next month.

Would be a miserable drive back if we get our a$$ kicked, too.
