Complete utter disgrace

You've lost your mind

It’s easy to doom & gloom right now.

However, the NCAA Tournament is completely different from the regular season.

Hell, some of the best teams never win the whole thing.

It’s all about seating and getting those favorable match ups.

The pieces are there, the talent is there.

Come Tournament time, regular season W/Ls means nothing.

I’m not giving up on this team.

Lol, so a team with no identity and has been showing zero improvement is going to suddenly turn it on in the postseason, led by a coach who is known for his inability to get it done in the postseason?

Why not just say it like it really is, you're wishing for a small miracle that this team just gets on a major hot streak.

And how has our coach done in the NCAAT lately?

We don’t have any favorable matchups because our offense isn’t good.

I’m not wishing.

The NCAA tournament is all about seeding and getting those favorable match ups.

This team clearly has his flaws but it’s not like we don’t have the players to make a deep run.

Really, tell me about this seating. Like full seats? Benches? Straight up lazy boys?

Tell me guys, what is wrong with this team? They continue to bumble and stumble, losing to mediocre **** teams it’s maddening. At times I just don’t think they care. Too much talent on this team to be this bad🥲

come on Ma’n. It’s the players fault. They aren’t taking Barnes’ hard coaching. Barnes is all time great. He deserves to be a top 5 paid coach despite not going to a final four in almost 2 decades.

Reality is it's much more likely that we'll see the same problems from the regular season in the postseason. The "Get hot and it all clicks" is more myth than fact, and BY FAR the exception rather than the rule.

You know what I meant
Yeah he does know what you mean, right. What you really meant was “But who else would we get that’s better than Barnes? I’m scared that it may be someone to go can’t deliver 1 sweet sixteen in 5+ years. Sniffle sniffle” ...

Johnson and Springer and Bailey are having to carry the team right now because we do not have a Grant Williams type player that can get baskets inside.

Barnes should let his guys run and gun because they work too hard in the half court sets for easy looks.

Inconsistent team.

Fulky not his normal self, SV isn’t a true pg (Needs to be moved to the wing), rebounding is suspect.

This team is good enough to make a deep tournament run.

Just need to find their identity.

If they haven’t found their identity with one regular season game left, then it isn’t going to happen.

I'm not trying to come down on Fulky, but it's unbelievable to me that ORN, Anosike, Pember, or Uros can't earn more than 3-4 of his minutes. No disrespect - he's fought through a bunch of injuries and now is possibly a COVID long hauler and he gives all he has, but what he has left is no longer enough. Also MIA: JJJ. Either his injury is worse than let on, or he's mentally checked out.

There is no way to look at this team as it currently stands and say that with a straight face.
This team is fading fast and if they lose to Florida and are 1 and done in the SECT, they may be looking at a play in game scenario or even worse...an NIT bid.
I don’t like our chances the next 2 weeks, tbh.
GBO!!

Even if they lose to Florida, then lose to Vandy/USCjr in their first SECT game, they're in the tournament (probably an 7-8 seed in that scenario.). But it won't matter - if this is the level of play going forward, the only way we're getting out of the first round is if we get a relatively unathletic mid-major live and die by the 3 team as a 9-10 seed in the first round and they have a cold shooting night.

What really bugs me about this particular game, though - and I'm a Barnes defender - is that Auburn simply wanted it more. They were the aggressor, they drew fouls, they outrebounded us, they played with more energy. I know Fulky's at maybe 50%, Pons is at 90%, and who knows with JJJ, but the entire game, we were just not engaged, focused, or locked-in. I've never questioned the effort of any of UT's Barnes-coached teams, but today is a big red flag IMHO.

Uros should get every one of Fulk’s minutes going forward. Who knows? Something might click with experience. He can’t do much worse. If he doesn’t fall all over the place, it’ll be an improvement.

Agree, Olivier and Uros could at least get a few rebounds, Fulky is getting pushed around like a rag doll and his head is not in the game— did you see pass from Springer whiz by him down low, wasn’t even looking for it— would have benched him right there!

At this point, I’d start Keon, Jaden, Bailey, Pons, and Oliver/Uros, and just run screens for the first three guys, let them shoots 3’s and midrange jumpers, then crash the boards. The hi-lo to Fulk is worthless, and JJJ has checked out.

On the bubble, at best. 16-7, with 2 regular season games left, and the tournament. Potentially 21-7, if they win the SEC Tournament, or 16-9, if they just lose out. Lose out, you're done. Win 2 of the next three, you're in.

Team is too soft.

They gave up 16 offensive rebounds today and don't want to work to get open inside.

Giving up 62 ppg but the defense isn't great in crunch time.

They settle for too many 3s and none of them are exactly prolific at shooting the 3.

Relying on freshmen who still don't know what they are doing for scoring and the senior leadership in Pons and Fulkerson has completely faded down the stretch.

No true point guard, no true inside man, and no go to player for scoring when they need it.

Other than that, things are pretty good.
