Concern about Florida

After the recent article about Elam, is anyone else concerned that they get Luc, Elam, Powell, Riley, Green, and Dunkley?

Also, does anyone know how many guys that can take this year? Is it only 25 or can they take 28?

They won't get Riley.. The rest maybe..

We have our own talent.. Our class is top notch even without those guys..

I agree, we definitely need to get 3 more lineman. I hope we get Cullen, Leifheit, James, and Green.

Really. Florida will get theirs but they cant sign every 4 and 5 star recruit in the country. UT will get theirs as well. top 5 hopefully.

Florida will always get players. They have a built in advantage of having some of the best players in the country in their home state every year. But there are plenty to go around. We just need to get as many good players as they do. We need to do that every year. Not every other year. If we can do that we can compete. That is all you can ask....

We also need to develope the talent we get. If we can do that we are going to be fine. But you can never expect to beat Florida every year. It isn't going to happen....

Like i said i never really expected this class to be full of just talent when you need O lineman then that really hurts your class rankings but once we pick up some O lineman i will be more than happy with this class.

Why are you guys so worried about Elam. He's a silent commit to us. Didn't you guys read Bradstar's thread?

There is no way we get Riley if Elam stays which it looks like he will, we have too many safeties

Out of all those guys, i see the Gators landing all of them except for Riley.

Dunkley imo is going to the U he keeps visiting. Riley to us. Luc to us or Fla st. Green to us. Elam and powell to Fla.

Questions for some of the Gator fans on here.... LV, Sab, Eric, or TJ, please weigh in if you have a opinion.

1) Do you think that Strong gets a job offer this year?
2) I know he has wanted one, so do you think he would take the Memphis job (he is going to be on their short list)?
3) Impact on defensive recruits (given said relationships) if he goes?

1. Yes, whether or not he accepts a job is something entirely different.

2. No, he's been quoted as saying he'll only accept a job offer from more prestigious programs.

3. I believe it'd affect Luc most. If Strong we're to leave I believe Luc would be the only player to go elsewhere. However Luc is an EE and he'll likely be signed before Strong is even offered a job.

1) Odds are Strong will get a job offer, but not certain he'll go.
2) No way he would take the Memphis job. Too small a job. Not a great place for a black coach w/ a white wife. Maybe Virginia.
3) I think the one guy that might be most impacted would be Luc. However, the main competition for Luc is FSU and we know they are going to turn over the entire defensive staff.

fwiw - I would rather have Christian Jones or Jordan Hicks than Luc, But Jones is locked onto FSU. We could get both Hicks and Luc.

1) yea, I think he gets an offer somewhere. He's too good of a coach to keep getting passed over...
2) I have no idea if he would take that job. Maybe...
3) imo it would greatly affect the recruits especially when they are trying to pull guys from all over the country (Hicks, Powell, Floyd, Luc).

Strong isn't recruiting those 3 so I don't think it'd have much of an impact. Luc however would be gone imo.

Strong recruiting them is irrelevant. He would be a MAJOR part of the reason they come to UF. He's one of the top 2 or 3 DCs in the country. If he leaves, I don't see how it wouldn't hurt UFs chances of landing them. I know what would happen to some of our defensive prospects if Monte left...
