Concern about Florida

Strong recruiting them is irrelevant. He would be a MAJOR part of the reason they come to UF. He's one of the top 2 or 3 DCs in the country. If he leaves, I don't see how it wouldn't hurt UFs chances of landing them. I know what would happen to some of our defensive prospects if Monte left...

Perhaps, I don't know for sure though. It may affect their decisions, but I'm more inclined to believe it wouldn't due to the head coach being the most vital piece in the recruiting process. For example, Pettey out west has lost a ton of coordinators to head coaching jobs, it hasn't ever affected recruiting much though.

I think Luc is an EE so even if Strong takes a HC job, Luc might already be enrolled at Florida. Also, the downfall of the FSU program recently helps a lot with getting Luc to UF.

Thanks everyone.

My initial thoughts were that Strong would not take the Memphis job (and it will be open), but I had wondered if he might consider it just because nobody else seems willing to take a chance. I think Memphis needs a younger black coach and I really do not think that most here would care about his wife being white.

From what I hear, the job is probably Larry Porter's (LSU) first (and word is that he is interested). They may contact Malzahn and Gill, but those are out of their league at this point. I have this feeling that Trooper Taylor will be on the list as well.

Not to be mean but thats like saying Crompton will throw another interception this year.

not to be mean, but with USC, Texas, and Bama killing in recruiting UF could possibly pushed to fourth. I actually think that they close crazy strong and end up 1.

But florida only has 17 commitments so they will be able to take more than anybody else.

After the recent article about Elam, is anyone else concerned that they get Luc, Elam, Powell, Riley, Green, and Dunkley?

Also, does anyone know how many guys that can take this year? Is it only 25 or can they take 28?

UF's constraint will be related to the 85 cap and that isn't certain because we don't know exactly how many juniors will declare for the draft and how much attrition we will have. We also have an injured SR who may or may not redshirt.

I think we take 25-26. Eight or nine left.
