Italy are possibly the worst World Champions 3 years on.

Lippis stubborness on not blooding in younger BETTER new talent is unbelievable however hopefully this will be the slap in the face they need.

Congrats to the US though..however i expect you to get truely dicked against Spain.

We are playing probably the best team in the world now. I can't believe we qualified, but that is awesome. Let's continue the run.

This team needs a good striker that can beat someone one vs one and create chances. I feel Bradley plays well in the middle and we need to find another central mid and get some of our hurt defenders back and you'll see a difference. I'm glad Beasley has been benched. I've always felt he makes horrible decisions.

Honestly, the main problem with this team = Bob Bradley. That, and this team is just playing scared at this point. Any team that has any higher regard in the world is a team that the US Soccer Team will fall down and collapse to.

I can't tell if thats sarcasm or not, but here goes :p

I think Goalkeeping is our strongest position. You always know what you'll get with Howard and Guzan in the net. They both bring intensity and they are willing to get on someone if they aren't doing their job. I feel Howard has better reflexes and he distributes the ball well out of the back.

Our back four have got to tighten up. The spain game showed that they are capable of playing well and to shut out the number one team in the world shows that they do know how to play. Onyewu is a great defender on set pieces and crosses because of his size. However, I think his lack of speed hurts us sometimes. He's a good player though. Bocanegra (sp?) is our smartest defender and is very rarely caught out of position. Specter is still learning but he has played fairly well this tournament. We need Hejduk back and I think you will start to see even better defensive shape.

Midfielders are average at best. Bradley is a good player and brings a lot of fire. He is dangerous outside the 18 and can hold the ball also. His vision is still a little narrow, but he has showed signs of improvement already. The other central mid position needs improvement. Clark just wants to send balls through and can't hold a ball. Klejstan has to make better decisions on the ball. I think he will be the solution to that position eventually. Dempsy needs to work harder on defense but he is one of the few players that has the ability to take on a player 1 v 1. Donovan works hard and distributes well. He can create also.

Forwards lack the magic that other teams have. Altidore, while young, is big enough that he should be able to hold a ball and wait for numbers. He plays only as good as he wants to. I think he is still a little immature and he has got to find a way to get consistant playing time over in Europe. Sitting on the bench isn't helping him. Davies has impressed me lately, but I still would rather have Ching at the other forward spot. Both players work hard and chase, but I think Ching is a little more of a scoring threat.

The biggest problem in the US is their youth players aren't good enough. We have some talent in the youth ranks, but compared to the international stage were about average. Club soccer has to get bigger and youth coaches have to get better for the US to become a Brazil, France, Netherland type team. Were still a good team but the consistency of good play just isn't there yet.
