Conference Realignment??

OU is tied to the hip, by their own choice, to OkSt. They're not going anywhere without them (just like the NC schools)

If and when enough where to happen for that conference to fall apart, OkSt would follow OU hand in hand to the Pac-12

I'll take your word on that. Doug Matthews says OU has 95% of the state. Take away Boone Pickens from OSU and they are nothing.

Virginia Tech - official Name: Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. They would be a good fit, but I don't see it happening. It took VT to protect UVA in the ACC, so I don't see them being alowed by the schools governing bodies. If a new school is added for the East, I'd rather it be Clemson or GT, because adding VT or FSU really makes that schedule a bear. A&M is like adding another Arkansas-level team, whereas adding FSU is like adding a Florida or Bama....

IMO, if realignment is required due to an imbalance of West-side teams (like adding A&M and Mizzou) Auburn could be bumped East. It is the most Eastern team in the West, and has a longer standing Rivalry with UGA (Since 1892, called "The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry") As long as they kept the Bama game on the schedule, it would work well.

Interestingly, Auburn is closer in distance to all the SEC East schools than it is to Arkansas, and only KY is farther away for them than LSU. Travel would be considerably reduced by switching the Tigers to the East if you factor them going to Texas A&M regularly.

And you know VT has been really quite. I haven't heard a word from them about the whole thing or did I miss something?

VT is no doubt a good football team, but I think they would have a a harder time coming from the ACC which is a weaker conference than TAM.

Possibly - (and I agree with 'the Big12 is greater than the ACC' for the most part) but VT showed that they could handle the Vols (agreed, not the level of Vol Team we expect) in their bowl game and played well against Bama in the Chic-fil-a kickoff in Atlanta. A&M was a decent matchup in there rivalry with Arkansas, but could they contend with LSU and Bama every year in the West? (note: now thet the SEC voted no, I guess it's a moot point for another year)

If you add 2 teams west of Arkansas, you would almost have too. VTech and West Virginia to the east, Oklahoma and A&M to the West. No matter what, we will always play Alabama.

Yes. For sure. If A&M gets the invite to join the SEC, that changes the recruiting landscape in Texas dramatically. I think they'd get plenty of good talent to contend for championships and would finally have something to offer Texas kids that the Longhorns can't, the SEC. It obvious they lose 90% of their recruits to Big Brother when they play in the same conference in the same area and can't sell tradition like the Longhorns but I think playing in the SEC would give them a huge advantage.

SEC East
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
NC State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Virginia Tech
SEC West
Alabama
Arkansas
Auburn
LSU
Missouri
Miss ST
Ole Miss
Texas A&M

Look at a map, this makes the most sense.

Gets you into every state south of the Mason Dixon line and East of Texas.
Also doesn't get you into any true Union States
