Conference Tournament Week Thread

No championships tonight, but some stellar games regardless.

#3 Pitt vs. #21 UConn at noon ET on ESPN (hopefully Jim Burr won't ref this)
#11 Syracuse vs. #17 St. John's at 2 PM ET on ESPN (and surely I'm not the only one who wants the Johnnies and their "fans" to get lambasted today)
Memphis vs. Southern Miss at 3:30 PM ET on CBS College Sports (basically could be for a spot in the tournament for Memphis; USM really needs to win the C-USA title)
Michigan State vs. Iowa at 4:30 PM ET on ESPN2 (if MSU loses, they're probably on the wrong side of the bubble)
UT-Arkansas at 7:30 PM ET, of course
#14 Louisville vs. Marquette at 9 PM ET on ESPN
Texas A&M vs. Missouri at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN2

Should be a good day.

The next 2 Thursday and Fridays always makes me wish I was unemployed.

I still have school (senior in HS), but I may skip next Thursday and Friday seeing as they're both pretty pointless days before spring break.

But hey, at least you don't have an optometrist appointment scheduled for the first day of the NCAA Tournament. :banghead2: If UT's playing at that time, though, I won't go to that either.

I was lucky enough to either have teachers who cared more about basketball more than education or to be sick every year from 8th-12th grade. Didn't miss a beat.

And then in college it was just a no brainer.

Starting work sucked.

I remember a tv being rolled in for a UT bball game in middle school. We now have tv's in the breakroom so I can always go work in there if I need to (did it for the World Cup)

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't have those. If Tennessee can stay out of the games before 3 PM CT, then I'm fine. Still hate missing any tournament action though.

We've got a new set-up in our conference room and the partner over the office has told us we can use it as long as there wasn't a client meeting. I'm planning on starting today.

Games on interest:

12:00ET Pittsburgh(27-4) vs. Connecticut(23-9) - ESPN

1:00ET Georgia(20-10) vs. Auburn(11-19) - ESPN3

3:00ET USC(18-13) vs. California(17-13)

3:30ET Mississippi(19-12) vs. South Carolina(14-15) - ESPN3

3:30ET Memphis(22-9) vs. Southern Miss(22-9)

10:00ET Vanderbilt(21-9) vs. LSU(11-20) - ESPN3

Just like everything went right for Uconn against Georgetown, everything is going right for Pitt.

Pitt just hit a three as the shot clock expired to go up 23-11 at the 11:30 mark.

i have a tv in my damn office, but for some reason it doesn't have fox sports net. Damn the pac-10 and it's crappy tv contracts!

Pitt / Uconn game is a good one! Kemba Walker IS the POY. No questions. Most amazing player this year IMO.

the wheels have fallen off the last few mins for Pitt. Turning the ball over again and again.

Walker is fun to watch and hard to disagree he should be POY

Seems like he gets away with some offensive fouls though. If someone is in his way while he drives to the basket, I noticed he'll sometimes stick his arm out and just shove people backwards so they can't contest his shot. Aside from that, he is really good at penetrating through traffic and hitting pull up jumpers. He's a damn good scorer.

Pitt still has the lead at half even with all the turnovers at the end of the half

Aside from the last couple minutes of the half, I thought Pitt looked better. Doesn't really matter though when you're only up by 1. It's anyone's game.

Btw, I thought they were giving Kemba some favorable calls. Didn't realize he has shot the same amount of free throws as Pitt's entire team though. That's a little ridiculous.

Ashton Gibbs is on fire.

6 of 7 from the field.

4 of 4 from downtown.

19 points, 3 assists, 1 steal and only 1 turnover.

Can't believe the refs didn't call a foul while Pitt was getting hammered under the basket.
