No he wouldn't have been great here. One good year after five horrible years. Please stop with the Cut threads. Spurrier coached there when there were 9 or 10 regular season games. Now there are 12.

His records in 3 years:
1987 - 5-6
1988 - 7-3-1
1989 - 8-4

Please stop with the Cut sucks threads.
In the eight years before Cut Duke was 13-90 with a 22 game losing streak. The guy can coach. Period.

And to the point, I'm not sure there's a major college football program (which Duke is not, IMO) out there willing to give carte blanche to anyone for 5 years without significant signs of improvement.

Very happy to see Cut have success. Always a class act.
