Yeah, 'cause we sure did beat a hell of a team today.

There's a difference. We HAVE to play Vandy (they do too) but UF SCHEDULED Western Carolina. I wouldn't be surprised if ANOTHER team jumps them in the BCS this week because of SOS.

Florida's schedule is still more difficult than ours. Don't act like Memphis or Marshall aren't cupcakes.

Plus, isn't WC the 12th game, aka the game they had to add during the offseason. We were lucky to pick up Air Force. A whole lot of teams had to settle for D2 teams for the 12th game.

Unless Cal beats USC (very unlikely) it is possible that Florida just scheduled themselves out of the BCS title game.

I think a convincing win in the SEC championship game would be extremely difficult to ignore.

While I agree that it should, we shouldn't kid ourselves. The USC/ND game will get more press than Tomkat's wedding.

Looking at today's stats for that game, does this mean Tebow is going to start the rest of the year? :birgits_giggle:

Coming into the game, USC's SOS was like 30 spots behind UF. UF finishes FSU and Arky. USC finishes with Cal and ND. I think USC's will make a jump, I'm just not sure if it will pass UF's. They may still stay ahead of UF, despite a lower SOS.

Except both those teams were good when scheduled. Western Carolina? C'mon, that NEVER had a chance to be anything but a free win.

At least Florida doesn't schedule a whole season of cupcakes.

I saw Boise State cruised past 1-9 Utah State today. They have 4 teams on their schedule that even have a winning record, and thye have played nobody ranked.

They are ranked at #13 and ahead of UT, what a joke.

I suppose you will claim that Air Force is a consistent national powehouse.

If they were going to schedule a cupcake they should at least be smart about it like Auburn and pick up a IAA team so that it doesn't affect their SOS in the computers.

That was so smart it cost them a chance to play for the national championship in 2004.

Of course not, but they have been the best service academy over the last 10 years or so. This also isn't the first cupcake UF had this year if you look at the schedule.

The way the BCS is setup your rewarded for playing cupcakes because you win and thats all that matters. It doesnt matter who you play anymore.

Actually having two other undefeated teams and having scheduled TOO MANY cupcakes is what kept them out. Again, if you are going to schedule a cupcake instead of a 100-119 DI-A school that will affect your SOS in the computer rankings, schedule a DI-AA that doesn't get factored in at all. Is it that hard to understand?

You are correct, I must have been thinking of Eastern... the Pirates. In that case, smart scheduling decision.

Doesn't matter. As long as Vandy sucks, which ought to be for about anothr 75-100 years at least, we should never consider a win over Vandy as braggable.

I didn't see him bragging... just ribbing the Gators for scheduling a cupcake late in the year... ??? :dunno:
