Actually having two other undefeated teams and having scheduled TOO MANY cupcakes is what kept them out. Again, if you are going to schedule a cupcake instead of a 100-119 DI-A school that will affect your SOS in the computer rankings, schedule a DI-AA that doesn't get factored in at all. Is it that hard to understand?
It's easy to understand. You would rather a school lose respect by playing a school that is not even classified in their level. Maybe since the Raiders are doing so bad this season they should challenge a college team. Auburn played I-AA Citadel in 2004 and lost respect. That's like a high schooler trying to get respect by beating up a sixth grader. If Florida had scheduled a I-AA team this year, ESPN would have a field day with that as a reason for them being excluded from the national championship.
They have 2 and Navy has 3. I thought the best way to decide which service academy was better was head-to-head. Guess how you do in games that aren't related makes FAR more sense.
