All I know is that the Vols defense completely dominated the Irish offense in holding them to ONLY 216 yards of total offense.
I really thought that even without Ainge, the Vols would be able to make the 10-7 halftime score stick.
However, the boneheaded play by Clausen resulting in a Notre Dame interception for touchdown changed the Vols' gameplan for the rest of the game.
However, the key to the game midway through the 4th quarter was the Vols inability to gain 1-yard on Notre Dame's 34 yard line. Hat's off to the Notre Dame defense... because whether it was Ainge or Clausen... the Vols offensive line was ineffective all day.
