I don't know why all you are rubbing his back over this whipping. The Memphis State fans are still butthurt and their hatred for everything orange is flaming. Let' get on with the avatar. I say a pic of a jackass. BTW, I hate Memphis State.

If Mempuss High would of won, homebiscuit would be on here telling us how he told us so and how the tigers were going to be in the final 4.
Without Coleman there probably not even the best High School team in Mempuss

One or two games do not make a season. They are a talented, but very young team. I'm not sure that your coach is very good, other than recruiting. Hopefully, he will learn on the job and you'll do well the rest of the season.

Pastner is a good coach and will get it done. The problem is Memphis was basically given the death penalty when Cal left. He absolutely gutted the program taking every recruit, telling others they should leave, and denigrating the program. Pastner has had to restart a program in the last 18 months. When he took over April 2009, he had Mack, Niles, Kemp, and Witherspoon on the roster and Coleman's commitment.

There was a reason Witherspoon did not transfer to UK and Coleman did not sign with UK (even though his JC teammate and package deal Dodson did). Cal did not want them.

Six of the 8 man rotation were not even on the team last year. Five are freshmen. The issue is, a learning curve for the whole team, not just 1 or 2 freshmen. Rose and Evans struggled their first 15 games with learning the offense, effort on defense, and playing every possession. Those players had multiple experienced 3 and 4 year players to help them along and hide their mistakes while they were learning. Without that veteran leadership it will take this group some time to gel. The future is bright in Memphis, it is just not happening as fast as some think it should. Those people are called idiots.

35-13 record while "rebooting" the program says otherwise. Cal didn't beat a Top 20 team in his first 3 years at Memphis and he had a lot more talent.

No it doesn't. His team is uncoached and Cal's early teams were awful. Pastner plays AAU ball in a setting where it won't work.

Cal's 2nd team had 3 players that played in the NBA (Barron, Wagner, Burks) and the #4 all time leading scorer in Kelly Wise. That team greatly underachieved by winning the NIT.

NBA low end talent says nothing about mental capacity or willingness to do what it takes to win.
