When the Sky went down by 14, I thought we were going to a game 5. The defense stepped up from that point and got them back into the game. When Parker hit that 3 to tie it up, the place went crazy. It was a great game to watch. Congratulations to Candace and Diamond. Congratulations also to Tonya Edwards who is one of the assistant coaches. GLV!

What an interesting match-up. Lots of LV ties to the Sky and the Mercury were a who's who of LV nemeses- Taurasi, Griner, and Skylar-Diggins.

And that short Zona softball pitcher was in attendance for some of the games...that helps...she sure did break my heart at the WCWS

Did yal noticed that Kyla D actually ran to Chicago hug them, called Candace and hug her. She needs to show Diana. Pay attention to Dolson after she made that shot Diana elbowed her in the face. She should get foul lady instead of Goat

Total team effort across the board, with very balanced play from the 5 starters, and Dolson/Diamond with some meaningful contributions off the bench (Stef on offense, Diamond on defense).

Everyone's talking about Allie or KFC or Courtney, but Candace was the one who ignited Chicago's comeback when she scored those 7 or 9 straight points to keep Chicago within reach. It could have really gotten out of hand. It may not always show up on the box score, but Candace's defensive performance last night was superb. She was everywhere.

Well deserved win by Chicago, and glad to see Parker with another ring when she seems to be an afterthought with the new league blood making their marks. Chicago can be even better next year if they keep their core group together and Evans develops into a reliable backup PG.

Yes to this! Her vocal leadership was also superb. I think it was Lisa Leslie who said this was Candace’s best leadership job.

The way she kept encouraging her teammates even when they were down double-digits in the fourth quarter was amazing. It sure was looking like she and the Sky were headed for another L in close-out game 4s. Not this time though, and she made sure of it.

I also love that Candace got two rings playing on teams with no Olympians. Not that she didn’t have teammates that SHOULD be Olympians. (Nneka and Kah). In 2016, Minny had four? Phoenix has three. Her ability to elevate the level of her teammates’ play isn’t discussed enough, IMO.

It was clear that she was providing exceptional leadership to go along with what she was bringing on the court. Candace was terrific throughout the playoffs.

I saw that Skylar and BG were both first team All-WNBA. On paper, this final should have been a routine Phoenix victory. Good on Chicago for showing that they are greater than the sum of their paper parts.

If you need a perfect picture of team effort, the 2021 Sky will do the job. It was about important contributions from everybody. They don't win without Candace's defense, clutch points, rebounding and leadership; they don't win without Vandersloot orchestrating the offense and hitting dagger shots; they don't win without Copper completely slicing and dicing their defense; they don't win without Quigley spreading the floor; they don't win without Stevenson guarding the paint; they don't win without Dolson's quality minutes; and they don;t win without Diamond winning just about every hustle play and lock down defending.

I wish you guys could have seen the Diamond in the Atlanta 14U division,, there were shades of that kid on display during the W......This accomplishment will only fuel this girl....I just wish Holly would have coached her instead of watch her. As a coach you should never be amazed around your own athletes,,,you can go Gaga over the recruits, but your own,,,you have to keep in perspective,,,namely, "If they can do THAT ,, they can one-up it !

It has been a long time since I've bought any WNBA apparel, but the Chicago Sky's total team efforts to win their championship inspired me to place an order today. They've won themselves a new diehard fan!

Congratulations to Candice Parker and Diamond Deshields, I am so happy and proud of you both, LVLS4L!!!!! Candice Parker you are a true legend. You have lead, you have taught and encouraged, you have nudged this team with all it's different personalities to a championship level. And look how you have influenced Diamond, fantastic. Chicago had talent before you got there, but they were missing something, "A championship culture." You brought in that mindset and work ethic, and now their Champions. Many thought that Candice had gotten "too old", but you played with high skills at a high level in the ways that the team needed. I am just happy for you. I don't know if this makes up for 2016, but on that night the best of the Orange beat the best of the Blue, which was the other champion game being played, and I'll leave it that. God Bless you Candice. Pat really is in her GLORY, I can hear her now, YES CANDICE YES ". GO LADY VOLS!!!!!!

Diamond, Diamond, Diamond , what a long road to becoming what so many of us knew you had in you, "Heart of a Champion." Look at what you had to go through, injuries, doubts, mistakes, coaching changes, personal attacks and criticism, all in the public arena, and although you may have stumbled, and all of us do, you never gave up. Unlike so many people you turned your mishaps and misfortunes into your greatest mission and your greatest achievement, but lets be honest, there are is no Diamond without great pressure. People forget that you were a starter, the first WNBA Skills Champion, and at times a leading scorer for the Sky. But the step that so many people didn't see, is that you took a step back in order to move the team forward. Putting the team ahead you helped you and the Sky win a Championship, take away your defense and your play, I doubt their is a championship to be played for. I am so proud of you, I just want you to know that some us have seen the road that you have had to travelled and what you had to go through. Diamond I proud of you, God Bless you. GO LADY VOLS!!!!!!
