On a day when your hometown Volunteers place another stone in the road they are paving toward an SEC Championship berth, your Domers drop the second straight game to a service academy are 1-10 and headed for the worst season on record. Great choice.

And hey, Jimmy! Thanks for affirming my joy at not having another Clausen wear a UT uniform.

GBO.

Who is Harrison Smith's Dad's? It sounded like he was kinda of well-known or something...

BTW, does the catholic boy get playing time at Domer? I know Golden Tate does.

He is a dentist in the Knoxville area if I recall correctly. Tate plays, yeah, but I haven't seen Smith yet. He'd be playing for us right now, I almost guarantee you.

I wouldn't be surprised if Harrison left ND, i personally know he doesnt like it there and absolutely despises the coach there.....

I wouldnt mind seeing him transfer here and would really honestly say theres a chance and a good one that he may come back

It always seemed to me that his parents made the decision for him...wouldn't mind having him back but I doubt it will happen

I highly doubt Harrison Smith would be starting over Eric Berry or Jon Hefney. He might, might be able to play some second string, but I doubt he'd beat out senior Parrish, or Wardlow.

Notre Dame is an awful team. They say it's a tallent and youth issue but I think there are a lot of coaching issues too. Weiss is supposed to be this offensive genius but he can't even coach up a back to pick up a blitz to keep his QB from getting killed. I feel sorry for anyone who has to play the QB position for them.

I, for one, don't want him.

same here. He had his chance to become a favorite for the home crowd and blew it. I hope he stays at ND and they continue to look terrible for the next SEVERAL years. Wouldn't it be funny if in about 3 years the ND faithful got REAL excited about finally becoming bowl-eligible?
:eek:lol:

Smith would be a linebacker at UT, not doubt. I think his best position would be tight end though.

dont know much about Smith but i have absolutely no love for Clausen. why he would pass a chance to play under Cut is beyond me.

Any hometown kid who snobs his nose at UT in favor of going to ND, whether his daddy pressured him or not, someone else can have him.

If Harrison Smith came here, I wouldn't want him to spend one second on the field b/c it would take everything in me to cheer for him.

ND's problem is that they have no line play what-so-ever on either side of the ball. That does not bode well for a freshman QB or any running back, DB, or LB.

This problem will plague them for about another year or two.

ND is also still lacking in the secondary department.

All this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy; Charlie Weiss who I hear is nothing short of a rude :censored:.

trashing a kid for trying to follow his dream.

you people need lives.

I haven't posted in this thread previously, so I feel that gives me a bit of an "unbiased" position to respond to your post. I think that the animosity stems from the fact that most of these people feel that Harrison wasn't following his dream...he was following his father's dream. I'm not sure that growing up to play football for ND was Harrison's dream. I'm not saying it wasn't either - but it did seem that his father wouldn't have had it any other way.

Yeah... and I'm sure you feel the same way about Tyler Smith.

I really don't think Harrison Smith can compare to the talent that Warren and Smith have - yet. Recruiting services like to blast players rating through the roof if they are being recruited by ND.

Plus... Harrison Smith chose NOTRE DAME. I think that is enough. Iowa.. Florida State - Most are O.K. with that, but really... ND?

he's a Catholic kid. i had probably 5 people in my class at Catholic High who went to ND specifically because 1. they were Catholic (duh) 2. their parent(s) went to ND 3. or they had family there.

i fail to see what is so shocking about a Catholic kid wanting to go to a Catholic college.

Yeah, a kid who is never going to get a sniff from the NFL chooses to go to a superior academic school. You guys are right, just a terrible decision.
