Here it is . A great Elite 8 Birds and Dogs showdown between Geno and Jeff on Sunday at noon EDT.

Possible look at the next Lady Vols coach giving Auriemma a whoopin.

I sure hope so. If UCONN plays at all like they did the last couple of games Louisville could win by a pretty good margin. The NCAA Tournament is looking pretty smart about now for making them a 2 seed. They haven’t looked very special against UCLA or Buffalo.

They are. And if Holly hadn't torpedoed Tennessee into the bottom of the list of at large considerations, they could have avoided playing a really good team in the first round.

Wouldn't have made any difference. I did not see "The Lady's" beating anybody. It just didn't look like to me they had their hearts in it.

I was addressing the subtle insinuation that UCLA was a very good team (which they are), which makes the first round loss to them more palatable. I just want to emphasize that the reason Tennessee ended up in the spot of having to play them I. The first round was due to Holly's shoddy season resume.

Correct. They played like the better team, had we not been an ELEVEN seed who barely made the tournament we wouldn’t have had to face such a tough first round opponent.

And some don’t want to accept it but most if not all our 5* AA’s all year played like 1* 3rd team all County! Coaching was an issue for sure as well! But only a fool would think it was all on Coaching!

Nah, I’m over blaming the players. It’s blatantly clear at this point that Holly was the issue. I’m gonna save this quote for next season and rub it in your face when everyone is saying “they look like a completely different team.”

Individually when you look at their performance they did not play that poorly. Rennia almost averaged a double double on the season for Christ’s sake. Holly’s non-existent game management lost them more close games than I’ve ever seen a coach lose in a season. Later in the year, after they totally gave up on her, they started getting blown out. Talented players aren’t going to give their all for someone who isn’t holding their self to the same standard. I commend them for nobody quitting honestly, as much as Holly blamed them throughout the season.

This post will not age well if Tennessee hires a decent coach, let alone a great one. I'd bet money that Walz, Moore, even Harper would have them playing consistently at a higher level than Holly did.

Yes please do! I truly expect things to get better! Mizzou! UK, Miss St half of Vandy will transfer! Along with adding Horston it’s automatic the record will be lots better! Even Holly would have won 5-7 more games next year and she knew it! Everybody else getting worse will be to our advantage!

Holly couldn’t have won herself out of a wet paper sack against any of those coaches. Do you not remember the UK game? Their starting lineup basically fouled out in the third quarter and they STILL beat us.

Not to mention losing AT HOME to literally the worst team Vanderbilt women’s basketball has ever put on the court. That’s a fact.

Additionally, MSST lost their entire starting lineup aside from McCowan from a season ago and still blew us out twice.

So you're right there was another issue. Recruiting. Which is also on the coach. We may never know which came first, wrong recruits or underdeveloped potential. Does it matter? Players are not getting good enough to win consistently in the SEC, much less the national scene. So recruiters (Reeves also since she's obviously not the whiz she is made out to be if bringing in slackers) and developers must all go.

Oh, gawd. Add five consecutive losses to Alabama and you’ve got yourself a foolproof recipe for a three-layer Get Your @ss Fired Cake.

...or maybe UConn just isn't all that and a bag of chips this year? This UConn team is not dominant by any means. Louisville should win this game.
UConn is definitely not as good as the past two years, but unfortunately there's always that damn game they should lose where one of them gets hot and takes over.

Durr needs to be sharp. I like their chances, but UConn has 9 damn lives sometimes.
