Third Republican Drops Out of Race to Replace Cheney after Trump endorses challenger

Former President Trump’s endorsement of Wyoming attorney Harriet Hageman in the GOP primary to take out Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) has pushed out a third candidate in under a week, further clearing what was a crowded field.

State Rep. Chuck Gray (R) said Tuesday he is suspending his campaign, joining Cheyenne businessman Darin Smith and Bryan Miller, chairman of the Sheridan County Republican Party, in dropping out of the race in order to consolidate support around Hageman.

Maybe Cheney will move to another state and run against an incumbent democrat.

Anthony Gonzalez, House Republican Who Voted To Impeach Trump, will NOT Seek Reelection in Ohio

Ohio Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, will not seek reelection in 2022.

In February, Trump endorsed Max Miller , his former White House adviser, in his primary bid for Gonzalez’s seat — the former president’s first of many revenge endorsements of those challenging his Republican foes.

Because he knows he has no shot at reelection after he betrayed his constituents.

Has anyone been keeping track of the stories on when Nancy Pelosi has developed her wealth?

Apparently she has amassed a few hundred million dollars over the last half decade.

Her and Diane Feinstein both have very wealthy husbands. Of course their followers and media look the other way. Obviously they are not the only politicians with very wealthy spouses. Romney, Kerry, and McCain also married into wealth. Coincidentally the latter 3 were challengers in 3 straight presidential elections.

Democratic House committee chairman to Retire, Giving GOP Prime Pickup Opportunity

House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth announced Tuesday that he will retire from Congress after 16 years in office.

The Kentucky Democrat heads the panel responsible for drafting a federal budget plan each year. Yarmuth has been a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat. He took office in the 2006 Democratic wave, beating a 10-year incumbent Republican as his party claimed its first majority in a dozen years.

The move comes as Republicans in Kentucky get ready to begin the redistricting process. State lawmakers are charged with drawing the Bluegrass State's six House seats, and Yarmuth's Louisville district could be a top target. If Republicans are maximally aggressive in gerrymandering to benefit GOP candidates, the district represented by Yarmuth could be spliced and diced to graft on key liberal precincts to surrounding conservative areas. That would have the effect of somewhat diluting the Republican tilt of the neighboring districts, though not enough to make them truly competitive.

Democrats Melting Down: GOP Flips Long-Held Blue Seat in Iowa Special Election

Happy Wednesday. How are things going for Democrats today? Let's review a handful of headlines. (1) Out of Iowa, a legislative seat that has been in Democratic hands for decades is no longer blue. Over the summer, Republicans won back a state senate seat in affluent, suburban, Trump-hostile Connecticut. Last night, they picked off a different sort of district. Trump carried it, but it had remained blue at the state legislative level, even in recent cycles with Trump on the ballot. Change:

Wasting months more crying about the 2020 election is definitely the most important thing Republicans can do. Keep it up!

Marjorie Taylor Greene to Face Primary Challenge from businesswoman Jennifer Strahan

Georgia businesswoman Jennifer Strahan announced that she will run a primary campaign against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Wednesday, kicking off what is likely to be one of many closely-watched races between the extra-Trumpy wing of the GOP and more orthodox candidates.

3 stats showing how much the deck is stacked against Democrats (msn.com)

"Which brings us to the last key stat: In 2020, Democrats were only about 90,000 votes away — less than a one-point across-the-board shift for president and Senate, and about a two-point shift in the House — from controlling literally none of the three levers."

This article seems to contradict itself talking about more aggregate votes and such, as opposed to this quoted last statement.
Just the fact that the Dems think they hold a progressive mandate is rather laughable.

Agree this just seems dumb and a waste of time at this point. Continue to sure up the loopholes that lead to questionable state election law changes and stop giving the other side and people that didn't like his 3rd grade ranting fodder to distract from the current trainwreck running government.
