Jesus and Randy Moss approve of Cordarrelle's God-given talents.

Why do I have this awful feeling that CP is going to be a major thorn in the Bears behinds for the next 10 years or so?

You are in the minority with that opinion. Even many non Christians respect the message and societal chaos that Jesus instigated. Can you give an example of something Christ said or did that you consider stupid, besides dying for the ones he loves?

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34

Trust me, there are far more bad bible verses than good ones, people who actually study and read it all the way through know this. It doesn't detract from some of the good ideas in it, but please don't pretend that even "non christians" respect his messages. Most people interpret his words how they want to fit their needs and nothing more, see loving gay people for a modern day example.

I'm not going to try to explain Matt 10:34, just make a comment.

You are right about the way "most people interpret His words." The Bible reveals God's perspective, not man's. The two usually clash. Those that have submitted to seek God's will, agree with Him and those that have not submitted, don't agree. The clash always boils down to this: either you believe Him or you don't.

But there are no bad Bible verses, except in mans mind.

I wish Patterson the best, and hope he has 14 great games this season. The exceptions are the two games he'll be going against the Packers.

So many verses, when read in isolation, can be (mis)used to argue almost anything. If you're going to go off on an anti-Christian rabbit trail, at least have the guts to read a few verses surrounding the one in question and be reasonable about context. It makes you sound pretty ignorant to actually propose that Jesus came to cause death.

Deuteronomy 25:11-13
If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

"I will sweep away everything in all your land," says the LORD. "I will sweep away both people and animals alike. Even the birds of the air and the fish in the sea will die."

Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12

This one sounds like Islam extremism.... It isn't

If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13

Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.
