Jeez, do you really think that Patterson was the problem last year? Addition by subtraction in removing the best playmaker that we have had in the 2000's?

eric berry? cp was not the best player weve had in the 2000's..maybe the best player last year.

I know the rumors were his grades sucked, but no one ever said officially what his grades turned out to be, it might not be as bad as we thought. I mean everyone wants to call him "stupid" and so forth, but they have no evidence to do so. Yeah, he might have done bad in a class or two, but those would be easy to make up. I just feel like if he was 100% ready to go to the NFL he would already have declared, I think he wants to find a way back, do not know if it is possible but hopefully.

He's not stupid. It isn't just grades this semester. He had to retake classes that don't count toward hr. total to qualify to play because of letter grades that transfer to every other SEC school other than TN and Vanderbilt.

He has to pass 26 spring/summer hrs. as progression towards his degree to even be eligible for fall. This is part of the academic issues at TN that Dave addressed that some on here claim don't exists. This issue wouldn't be at any other school other than TN and Vanderbilt.

I want him to stay but he needs to go. I would be wavering if there were a better chance for him to be eligible.

Not trying to hijack a thread, but this is not true at all. They reported that UT had made an offer to Gruden and he was considering the offer.

As to the premise of the thread, hope he comes back. Doubt he will.

And UT never offered Gruden the job......they tried to contact him to see if he was intrested and his agent said he was happy where he was at.

So whatever they reported was false information

CP is gone and unless you have a source.... CBJ has already said this. Get with the program people and stop making a new thread every time you have a brain fart.

Once again, you are assuming things are facts that are the mere allegations of a agent. A person whose job is to not report factual information as correct, but to represent Jon Gruden. None of this information you stated is corroborated as factual.

I will take the words of a reporter with the Chattanooga Times (Steven Hargis) over those of Jon Gruden's agent here, until proven with credible proof to the contrary.

Feel free to believe what you want.

Too damn stupid to come back for another year, couldnt make it w grades

There are far better ways to have shared that sentiment without leaving such low-hanging fruit to lure out the anti-academic crowd. Just wish the guy well and move on; if he had wanted to be here more than a year, he would have made the effort to create a situation that would allow for it.

I would never call a man stupid who is about to make millions of dollars to play a game. How many more millions is that than you make? or I make for that matter.

Titans will get him

Nah, seems that the Titans prefer to have 0 Vols on their team. ; )> I think they've done that the last few years and it baffles me really. Why they tend to do that, dunno, but seems it'd be smart on their part to "Go for Manning" with other Vols as well so as to get some Orange money to show up at their games.
