WTF???

That's random as can be, something seems off here.

Was he told he may get a scholly next year and now is being told otherwise? Weird, definitely didn't see this coming.

That's kinda what I am thinking. If so, that could possibly be a good sign. JMO

Govolsxtra says he's gonna go d2 or NAIA do he can play immediately. If its about playing time then i understand the move by him. Maybe Richardson has looked good in practice, good sign, or CCM told him Moore was gonna be the back up, also a good sign.

It was reported up front no scholly was offered or promised. I think this was just an extended tryout. From his Clemson stats, this is no surprise.

Can't really fault him if that is the case. Seems like he must not have been too impressive in practice and wasn't going to be the back up.

Probably best for both parties, just hate that he didn't make it here, but understandable. Also, iirc he has a child so probably looking to play major minutes somewhere and hopefully get noticed and eventually be able to play for money.

Good luck to him.

Can you furnish that report, because I never saw that?

Also, as someone else pointed out, compare his freshman numbers to Goldens, almost identical. Golden turned out pretty well, my point bring freshman stats when you only play 10 minutes don't always mean a whole lot.

Rob Lewis reported the no scholly offer back when Stanton first came in.

If that's the only source, thats about as meaningful as jimmy saying it.

I'm sure there was no offer, but I'm guessing he was told he'd have the chance to earn one. Stanton probably took it as there was a good chance, and now he's realizing he's not gonna get one.

Tell me how you interpret this, and then tell me again he wasn't told he may get a scholly...

Like I said, he was definitely under the impression there was a good chance of him getting a scholly.

And like i said, to a kid that this is his dream school when he heard there's a chance, he probably heard he's gettin one.

I'm sure there was some miscommunication, but CLEARLY Stanton was under the impression he was going to be getting a scholarship.

Hope this doesn't get more attention than it deserves, seems like some thrive on a little drama! Good luck, young man, wherever you end up.

I know his family in Springfield and I know they though he was getting a scholarship. I don't know what kind of scorer he was going to be, but he could have certainly been good for ball possession and assists.
