Cornbread's final recruiting class

Wow that is a lot.
Makes you wonder how many did Huepel tell they would not see the field and they left? Or which one's could not take the discipline/standards this coaching staff have put in place. I know there are other reasons to leave but I just wonder how many left on their own and how many were "suggested" that they might want to look elsewhere.

9 out of the 10 highest ranked commits in the 2021 class have left or leaving the program.

Just adds to the absolutely incredible job CJH and his staff have done in extinguishing the dumpster fire and getting the program back on track.

Well in all fairness to Pruitt, he recruited kids that (supposedly) fit in his system.

Not looking like they fit in Huepel's.

Best of luck to all these young men. They wanted to be Volunteers, but it just wasn't in the cards.

Only like 1 of them made an impact, and he left before pretty much anyone else (Tiyon). Merrill was fine and Rucker hasn't made much on an impact yet. No one else even really played.

April 2020 was when I thought we were going to have an all time great class.

Yup.

2021 DeCommits.jpg

If you look at where a lot of them have ended up though. Of the 10 highest ranked decommits, 5 are at or heading to a second school

Dylan Brooks to Auburn, played in just 7 games in two seasons
Damarius McGhee to LSU, in the portal currently
KaTron Evans to Jacksonville State
Hudson Wolfe to Ole Miss, hasn't played in two seasons due to injury
Cody Brown to Miami, transferred to UVA
Jordan Mosley to Northwestern, transferred to MS State
Tiyon Evans recommitted to Tennessee, then transferred to Louisville

Heupel doing more with less since January 2021!!
Heup is showing that his style as a coach is, to a large degree, as a CEO. Yes, he does have hands-on in some areas. However, he does seem to run the team as a business. And thatā€™s good.

Good ole Cornbeard....he needs to be out there digging a ditch somewhere today.

Where is he at these days?
Spending the millions we paid him to wreck this program. We paid him what, 6 million over 2 years? With no state income tax? He is rich regardless of whether he ever sees another dime from coaching. Bastard Gump

Hard to imagine being that wrong on a single recruiting class. I know the metric is to hit on 50% of your class and it's a job well done, but man, that's really a poor class.
