Cornbread's final recruiting class

Imagine what CJH will do with a team full of his recruits that buy in and are developed from day 1

Think about what they did at G5 UCF with mostly all 3 stars or less. I mean they beat Auburn in the 2018 Peach Bowl to go 13 & 0 with Milton at QB. Yes Milton,13 & 0 with Milton at QB sounds great, of course it was McKenzie Milton, but it still has a ring to it that I would love to embrace this time next year. GBO

Good ole Cornbeard....he needs to be out there digging a ditch somewhere today.

Where is he at these days?
One of my resolutions for 2023 is to really try to stop caring where our former coaches are at or what they are doing. Except for Kiff at Ole Miss, none of them are currently in a position to have any impact on our program. It is had to let go of the past, especially when you have suffered like Vol fans have the last two decades. But we finally have the right guy I believe and I want to focus on the future instead of the past
That all said, it is easier said and done and I am positive I will catch myself snickering every time Butch loses another game at Arkansas State

This. That's all history. I hope Pruitt eventually gets a 10-year show-cause order for the damage he did, but I'm not going to dwell on it. Heupel and his staff coached up a bunch of transfers and Pruitt holdovers to 11 wins in his second season. I look forward to seeing what he can do as he gets more of his own recruits into the mix. Butch is Arky State's problem now, and not ours.

As Long as a former coach doesn’t Land at an SEC school and become a competitor or unless we play against one in a bowl game (not very likely for Butch right now), they are no longer any of my concern

9 out of the 10 highest ranked commits in the 2021 class have left or leaving the program.

Just adds to the absolutely incredible job CJH and his staff have done in extinguishing the dumpster fire and getting the program back on track.
On the flip side 9 out of the 10 transfers in that class have been contributors. Hooker, Milton, Chase McGrath, Kamal Hadden, Brandon Turnage, Tremblay....DL from USC, J. Mitchell, Da Jon Terry, Javonta Payton. The only misfire was with Mohan.

Often a team buys into the character of the coaching staff. I see quite a difference when I look at Heupel and Pruitt. Which coach would you want to coach your child?
I'd definitely want Heupel. They are different as night and day. His system sucked because he sucked, I also like to believe I did a good job raising my kids and they wouldn't buy into his character. :)

Interesting...

Willis-Houston
Salter- Liberty
Marley- currently unsigned
Merrill- currently unsigned
Nixon- currently unsigned
Evans- Louisville
Parker- currently unsigned
Campbell- currently unsigned
Bell- Iowa Western CC

None so far have transferred "up".
I always had the sense that many of Pruitt’s recruiting “wins” were really just a case of getting leftovers after his competitors lost interest - not always but frequently.

Good observation, but many of the transfers were CJH guys. Someone who follows this better than me should check me but I think CJH: Milton, McGrath, Tremblay, Terry, and Mitchell.

Imagine taking over a dumpster fire and you lose half of a recruiting class of most of the top players but you excel in spite of it.

JOE Just won the Orange Borl against a loaded defense in Clemson. They are on par defensively with most SEC teams

Those guys all play or played in the case of Tremblay. He helped last year. I love the development of these guys. Imagine the higher ranked talent in year 3
