Congratulations to your son. The Juco Baseball route is a very smart one to go. Get two years of schooling knocked out of the way at little to no costs. Improve as a player, then you have D3, D2, D1 or perhaps MLB ready to grab your talents with immediate contribution.I hope baseball isn’t hurt bad. My son will be pitching at Walters State starting this fall so I am already looking two years down the road. This may severely limit his options.
Thanks. He will actually pocket $1500 per semester from baseball and academic money. It was a no brainer. Hopefully it will pan out in a couple of years with a D1 opportunity.Congratulations to your son. The Juco Baseball route is a very smart one to go. See more of this as well
I read that 67. The whole time, shaking my head. Pay the coaches less and pass that along to the students. Start there.
Makes me so dang angry, it would make Cafego angry!

The amount of money coaches get paid to coach athletes that cannot get paid is obscene.
I should have demanded a raise from nothing to something when I coached 7-9 year olds baseball. Of course, I was kinda like Coach Buttermaker, so I didn't deserve compensation.
I was, until this past season, a non faculty assistant FB coach at a pretty big HS program.
I basically worked for free, and I loved it !!!!
I get that the “Nick Sabans’” of the world generate, or help to generate bazillions but it is the same sport Neyland coached. Right?
C’mon, the salaries and the buildings and just building stuff, for a non profit taking federal money and charging it back to students in the form of high interest loans?
Yeah let’s just get rid of the soccer team and blame it on COVID-19.
Stupid.
And it’s mean.
The cost of higher learning is a topic I should probably avoid, it makes my blood boil. Good thing I began my college career 35 years ago, no way I could do it now.
As much as I love sports, they have far too much influence.
The good news is that summer ball doesn’t start until end of May, first couple of weeks of June, depending on the league. So there’s time for things to improve, hopefully, or schedules to get adjusted. We’ll have three Vols playing for us (the Forest City Owls).
Actually this will be our third year of streaming . And, if you want to watch old games, you can watch them now.
Here’s a link to watch last season’s games: Coastal Plain League - Home We had Jake Rucker and Caleb Pearson (who transferred) playing for us last year.Nice!!! I haven’t kept up as much as I used to do, but that’s great!!!
Used to be the weird radio thing, with team stat stuff, I hated following our guys there, but it was better than nothing.
