Unless one of the guys completely and utterly stands out above the rest. And by this, I mean have improved like a mad man over this off season. Worley will get the start for the first game. Assuming, again, all qb's are healthy.

1. Worley is a senior. So he should have the most mature mind and body. *He also has shown more signs that we can succeed with him at the helm. (this is simply my opinion)

2. Dobbs showed flashes of great potential. But not often (once again my opinion)

3. Ferguson…we simply do not know. It's easy to be wishful that he is the best since we haven't seen him. But we haven't seen him in a game.

4. Peterman…Well he would have a lot of making up to do in order to over come trust issues. It could happen. But personally I'm not counting on it.

* Side note. I think we will see Ferguson come in during the first game or two to see how he does. I think he will get considerable playing time, even.

Worley has about a year and a half of experience under his belt. I don't really think there will be such a vast improvement over the next sixth months that it will wow anyone. I hope to be wrong though..

I think the QB situation is up $h!ts creek for a few recruiting classes.

Looks right to me. Worley should be the starter by the start of next season unless one of the other QB's can drastically improve over that span. But, if there was one to do it, I think it would be Fergie, but nobody's seen him play so you can't say for certain.

I think Dobb's running was an element the coaches will not give back. The other two may be able to run, but Worley runs badly and is afraid.

I don't really think #1 is all that valid. He may have maturity, but if he can't throw the ball within 10 yards of a WR what does it matter?

Honestly I'm hoping one of Dobbs or Ferguson beats him out in the Spring. Both of those guys are a bit more naturally versatile and athletic (though in different ways). Where Worley has them beat is (or should be, in Ferguson's case) decision making. If either of those guys can show that they can line up and run the offense and not turn over the ball at a level equal to Worley, then Worley should spend his senior year holding a clipboard.

We may see Worley start but with increasing reps for Ferg as the year progresses until he overtakes the starting role probably midway through the year.

I kind of agree with this. But I think they will have to to be head and shoulders about Worley in the spring. We know what we are getting with Worley in the game. Dobbs has a lot of improving to do before he is the guy. And we still aren't sure what we have with Fergie. This is why I say Worley is the guy. And Fergie will get considerable playing time.

This is probably the most realistic expectation. We'll probably have a QB go down for at least part of a game as well. That will create an opportunity for somebody.

Yes. Wishful thinking though would have Worley finish out the year as our starter= winning games and performing well. If Ferg comes in midway, I think that would be a sign of poor performance by Worley and losses by Vols.

I don't necessarily think what I was saying will happen, but I think it would be our best case scenario for Dobbs or Ferguson to earn the job outright.

Key word there is earn

Or an injury. We'll most likely see a QB injured at some point.

As far as I'm concerned, the only QB with an edge is Worley. Peterman, Ferguson, and Dobbs are all equal. It was a shame we had to burn Dobbs' redshirt. That boy definitely needed a full year in the weight room before he was ready. Peterman - what's the vibe on this guy? I honestly can't say he is better or worse than Dobbs. I know he only played that half and was injured, so I wonder how much of a factor that injury really was. Everyone's eyes will be on Riley Ferguson this spring, that's for sure. My guess is we are going to see all 4 QBs on the field next year.

I think you guys are in panic mode way too early. Two of the QB that are competing were going to their last semester of high school this time last year and didn't benefit from spring practice and winter training. Give them all at least into next season before we panic.

With all the competition on campus in the spring the talent & experience we have WR someone will take the job by the summer. They all had a year in the system. Like it was stated Dobbs needs the weight room he took some big shot, played through injuries, but showed flashes of the athleticism we desperately need in the position. Heck all of our QB's were injured. Lets give it time.

Well, it might play out kinda like it did for Bray his freshman year. Simms was limited in what he could do physically, but Bray had to get some game experience along the way before he assumed the starting role versus Memphis.

I'm not ready to say I've seen all that any of the four guys can do just yet. However, I do believe it'll be a 3-man race until August, with Peterman on the outside looking in.

Yeah remember how the majority wanted Peterman to start for the Florida game.....then called Butch an idiot after they got what they wanted because it didn't work

I just want to see someone take charge this offseason. I'm talking in your face vocal and owns the field when he steps on it. He may not be the most gifted but knows he is a winner and will demand it from the others.

I personally think it's odd that 1 of our QB is not suggesting a transfer at this point of time. Maybe they have and our couching staff convinced them to stay. Also, was Fergy even redshirted?!

Just give me someone that pulls the damn ball on the read option.

Hopefully we don't have 4 qbs hampered by injuries next year (assuming the rumors that Dobbs was hurt down the stretch are true).
