Cotton Bowl: Alabama vs Michigan State

Gosh I wish Saban would take an NFL job somewhere. I mean he's almost already on the verge of winning another National Championship. What in the hell does he got left to prove at Bama?

Stanford vs Bama would have been a lot better game. They need a new playoff committee that looks at the teams not the conferences.

I say Clemson gives them a stiff run for their money, if not pulls out the W. A DT QB seems to give them more trouble. Watson is a player.

Yeah but weren't most of the pundits picking Sooners over Clemson. But I think it will be a close game, we prob share a lot of similarities with Clemson...Dobbs will be next years' Watson (We can only Hope!)

You serious Clark?

There seems to be a flawed concept between picking which are the best "teams" and who has the best "resumes" and there is a difference. After watching both Stanford and MSU in their conference titles games, it was pretty obvious that Stanford was the better team, but because Michigan State only had one loss they got in. Michigan State was two plays away from being 9-3. Stanford was two plays away from being 12-0.

A lot of advanced metrics felt Stanford was a top four team above Michigan State.

MSU was a hideously bad no call away from being 13-0.

While I agree that Stanford is better, they certainly weren't two plays away from being 12-0. They were flat dominated by northwestern. They could have easily ended the season with four losses as well. Washington State had a fg attempt at the gun to beat them and they had to kick a field goal on the last play to beat Notre Dame.

Current system has been no different from BCS...the Committee should be able to differentiate from teams, regardless of record, MSU got one signature win agasint OSU (mostly due to the weather) that bumped them ahead of Stanford.

The man love of Herbistreet for Kiffin...good gravy. That aside, did MSU really say bama hadn't met an OL like them this year? Tide and tigers should be good.

Stanford was also a couple of plays away from being 9-3. It works both ways. Hindsight is always 20/20. If this game would have been close and competitive, I wonder if you would make the same comments. Stanford would get beaten in much the same manner as MSU.

Best part of that interception.... I had accidentally switched to the Spanish feed on Espn2. Everything sounds more dramatic Spanish.

Stanford runs an offense that is very similar to MSU. Alabama would stomp a mud hole in Stanford.

Stanford doesn't run an offense like Michigan state at all. MSU is your typical Big Ten pro style offense. Stanford runs one of the more sophisticated offenses in the country. Play design, packages, and personnel groupings are NFL like.

I did that by accident the other night on some bowl. It was funny.
