Could Fla make it a respectable game?

Then it won't be "6 after this Saturday".

Then again, the way Florida's offense is going, Arkansas could jump into the top 25 in total defense after Saturday.

So that still makes it 5 top 25 D's to none USC has played..right?

Offensive TD's Scored:
FLORIDA - 44
USC - 43
Michigan - 41
First, you might want to use the most recent stats. Which look like this:
Florida: 47
USC: 45
Michigan: 45

Next, you might want to look at who those TDs were against...ie, the 9 touchdowns scored against Western Carolina...a bad I-AA team, at that (2-9 record and ranked 101st in total defense in I-AA).

Also, Arkansas does not have one of the best 25 defenses in the nation.

You're not actually arguing that Florida's offense is better than average are you?

Are Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama top 25 defenses?

Playing tougher Defenses does make the O look more average though. UF ranks #2 in total O in the SEC.

Congratulations, you scored 9 TDs and put up 500+ yards of offense on Western Carolina.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Florida ranks 55th in scoring offense, 32nd in total offense, 7th in scoring defense, and 18th in total defense when facing I-A teams.

Defense wins championships :devilsmoke: So you think UF couldn't give OSU and Michigan a game??

I definitely do not believe that Florida could get within 15 points of Tosu and within 10 of Michigan.

I could break down all the statistics you site further, but I think I have established my point by simply showing the dropoff after removing the Catamounts of Western Carolina.

HMM..I guess Ball State and Illinois are better than UF and should make a BCS game then

Ball State and Illinois didn't win those games. If you are going to bring those games up, then you should not shelve the Florida game against Vandy...or, how about that SC game, when Succup kicked the XP right into the line, leading to a long FG attempt a couple minutes later?

I absolutely hate this argument. You bring up other teams close calls, but yet to bring up the fact that Florida is 8 points away from having 4 losses!

Enjoy the pounding you receive from the Hogs...then please, come back and gripe and complain about the BCS process...

By the way, if you top out wins and losses at 21 points a piece, here are some interesting numbers, concerning margin of victory:
  1. Tosu: 216
  2. Michigan: 169
  3. USC: 149
  4. Florida: 122
BTW, those are just rankings in comparison to those 4 teams. I could provide a whole list to show you exactly how miserable Florida's national championship argument is. Feel free to request it.

Actually i brought those up since you seem to think UF would lose to OSU and Michigan by double digits..even though those two did.

The hogs may pound the Gators..but I'd rather take that chance than not getting there at all.

Of course you would rather take that chance, you are a Florida fan. However, Florida does not deserve to be chosen over USC or Michigan. Apparently, I am not alone in this, since the voters seem to place Florida behind these teams.

Considering there is no margin of victory factored in that would be pointless..but yes I can show skewed numbers as well to support UF.

You already displayed your skewed set of statistics...

How about you show me where Florida ranks in relation to other SEC teams in purely SEC games? Since, UF tends rack up around 600 yards against the likes of Western Carolina and Central Florida, I bet you would be curious to see exactly how they stack up against conference rivals...

I think we have already seen that "Fuzzy Math".

It is funny how we and most claim the SEC is the toughest conference in the land..yet it's not good enough to get Auburn..and now possibly UF in the BCS title game..here is what sagarin ranks as the toughest schedule in the land...

Sagarin

Stanford 1
Cal 2
USC - 3
Arizona 4
Washington 5
Oregon 6
UCLA 7
Michigan - 13
Fla - 27
Arkansas 49

Yes this is the toughest schedule in the country according to the powers that decide

At Oregon
San Jose State
Navy
Washington State
at UCLA
at Notre Dame
Arizona
at Arizona State
USC
at Washington
Oregon State
at No. 21 California

UF is #2 in Total O with all games included. SEC only, UF is #4 behind LSU, Kentucky (yes, UK) and Arky.
