I really didn't know what to think when Dobbs did not come in as the backup.

Being red shirted is one good answer. We will just have to wait and see.

I think it has been pretty well established that they are trying to redshirt Dobbs this season if at all possible.

It will be an open competition for the QB spot all spring and fall between all 4 of them.

It's been said on many radio stations around k town, which host can attend practice, that he's not even close to being 2nd string.

Could be, but I have to believe if Worley got hurt again that he would be given a shot. Peterman seems like a good character guy, a hard worker, and has some good physical tools. But when the lights come on, he just can't get comfortable enough to even do the basics for whatever reason. In fairness, yesterday was alot like UF last year - on the road in a tough environment - but he just hasn't got it done and I would be surprised if we see him again.

That's pretty sad then. Either we suck abysmally at that position or practice doesn't come close to being taken to the game.

how has Florida's Dline done this year? Im sure they have some talent, but have they been preforming well?

They mostly shut down Bama offense until the 4th quarter. Also generated some turnovers. I think the Dline is still the strength of that team.

However UF secondary is suspect and the way Worley is playing + talent we have with receivers and tight ends, we should be able to exploit that with some quick short to medium slants - but this is going to happen only if (and that's a big if) Bajakian actually figures out how to get the ball to Pig and North on more consistent basis.

Huh? AL had 200 yards passing the first half of that game. FL was getting hammered the entire game. They were lucky to have some turnovers go their way so it didn't look so bad.

Wrong!

Alabama scored 14 in the first quarter...
7 in the second quarter...
and 14 in the third quarter...

Their d-line may still be the strength however!

I think both Peterman was ahead of Dobbs as the 2nd string, plus they would like to now redshirt Dobbs instead of playing our 3rd string.

No he's not. Did you watch Dobbs play at all last year? Compare that with the horror that we've all witnessed that is Nathan Peterman once he gets in a game. Dobbs has plenty of room for improvement, but his in-game play has been light years ahead of Peterman's.

Fact is, according to the VQ guys and everyone else who covers the program, that they want to redshirt Dobbs if at all possible. I'm now convinced that it won't be possible given our poor OL and Peterman as our backup.

Ok, I see it's gonna be the "We will not field the players who give us the best chance to win" option.

Three disastrous series. The game very well may have been decided precisely there. In which case, you are basically putting the loss on the coaches. I, on the other hand, think a win yesterday would have been worth ALOT more than a stupid redshirt for Dobbs. And I think the coaches agree with me.

He might be finding the College of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering more challenging than he thought. I know lots of these athletes are taking coursework they can easily handle while doing all the film/playbook study required for CFB.

But having been through the Mechanical Engineering curriculum; I know by itself it is very hard and time consuming much less adding football. Frankly, I'm amazed anyone would want to do that to themselves. Redshirting this, his sophmore year is the kindest thing Jones could do for him considering the monsters of the classroom such as Engineering Physics & Differential Calculus are waiting to sack his dreams if they can.

What about Wygzyn, the guy who transferred from UCONN? He started a lot of games for them. Is he any good?
