Could Russia actually exist as a viable Republic / representative democracy?

Most of them do, I find the hand wringing about how immoral Russian businessman are pretty hilarious. Germans were buying oil and feeding the Russian war machine, but oligarchs!

If Putin and his oligarchs hadnt been bleeding Russia dry for decades they would be a major economic power by now.

YES! They got the people and the resources. Take that oil money and spend it on business and infrastructure and Russia would be great.

They got 10% of the World's land, not like they need a lot more land anyways. Russia could be what China has become by become a cheap labor, industrial power.

My point was they are too invested in the current system for any meaningful change. Much like the United States.
