Could Tennessee beat Bama by 2 touchdowns?

well if you look at bama's away games this year and none in an environment like hell on earth in neyland....they have not scored by much to win....they are vulnerable. if we score I doubt they keep up

I thought the LSU game would be an ugly fight. Boy was I wrong. With that said, for the first time in my life my husband and I both will be taking cigars with us to Knoxville next weekend. Do I think we win, no idea. But after years of misery, I have hope, and think we have a chance. GBO, beat Alabama!

Wonder if you had a chance to watch the Bama-Texas game this year. I did and with Bryce Young the only reason Bama won that game was because Texas lost their 1st string QB early in that game. While I won't conjecture how many points we can win this game next week I do believe it is winnable regardless of what QB starts for the Tide.
I did not get a chance to watch it. I sure hope you're right. I would love nothing more than beating then. I sure think we have a better chance of beating them this year than we have in many many years.

Alabama hasn't looked that dominant in any game they've played but I understand the ghosts of the past won't let us believe we can do it but if we win, we are the best team in the country so come to terms with it.

Without Bryce Young, yes. But Bryce will be back next week. No way he's not.
The way Tennessee got after LSU's qb, sacking him is promising. Maybe they won't steamroll over us. If we rush the qb and do it often, we have a legitimate shot at getting (winning) this one.

Huh? They have wins of 55-0, 63-7, and 55-3. I’d say that’s pretty dominant. Plus, outside of about a 10 minute stretch against Arkansas they manhandled the Hogs. That one was 49-26 at Arkansas. That was also their first game with no Young. Now they’ve looked very beatable against Texas and Texas A&M. Maybe it’s a Texas thing?

You think their wins over Utah State, ULM and Vanderbilt are predictors that they will beat us? I think our wins over Florida, Pitt and LSU looks better than their wins, A&M is terrible and Texas was on their way to winning that game.

I don't care if it one point or more - Just win! I believe in this team and for the first year in a very long time, I believe a victory is possible. When Bama has played a good team, they have looked very beatable - Tennessee is a good team.

currently bama is 8.5 point favorites - not that matters (see TN only being 2.5 pt favorites against LSU) but thats what oddsmakers currently think

Uh, that’s literally nothing remotely close to what I said nor is it remotely close to what you said the first to which I responded. You said Alabama didn’t look that dominant in any game they played. I gave you 3 games they won by 50+ points and a road SEC win where they covered the spread by a TD. That was the only point. In those games they did indeed look dominant. Against Texas and A&M they didn’t.

I don't see irrelevant games having any bearing on anything, in the games they have played against quality opponents with the exclusion of Arkansas they have not looked dominant whatsoever and Arkansas has proven out to be a mediocre team. Tossing out scores with no reference as to who they were playing implies they are drubbing good teams and it's just not the case.

I should have said they haven't been dominant against quality opponents, that better?

Opening line Bama -9
Already down to -8.5 as people jump on those numbers they'll decrease....Expect it to get closer to 0..maybe 3 by weekend. I mean if you just look at rosters and performance in games this year strength of schedule etc...the number doesn't make much sense. Of course there's the psyche component , and it's large here.....it's "Alabama"...and I don't think everyone is sure "Tennessee" is back yet or out of choke mode. This game will decide that. I really am starting to feel better about our chances the more I watch Alabama highlights....they don't look like their Myth this year.

Been saying this is the key right here. People are seriously underestimating our DL, don’t give him time.

Without Young we absolutely could win by 2 Tds.

If Young is anywhere close to healthy though, I doubt it. And it's gonna be tough to win. He'll torch our secondary.

We will have to have another UF like stats performance from Hooker to have a chance...Bammer will have to turn it over some too.

Again, you’re arguing points I’m not making. You aren’t a good listener, or in this case reader, are you? You’re the one who said Bama hadn’t looked that dominant in ANY game. I gave you 4 of their 6 games where they dominated. Maybe you just weren’t clear in communicating your main point in the first place but since you change your argument every time you post I can’t follow your main point.

I just happened to see this even though you replied to yourself. Yes, that’s much clearer. In general, I’d agree. Arkansas is the only decent team they dominated and Arkansas is looking worse and worse each week. Plus, Arkansas had a real chance to make it a game. I think where you’re going with this is that we shouldn’t be afraid of them and I definitely would agree with that as well. They’ll be favored because they’re Bama but I’d take UT and whatever points Vegas is giving.
