Could the battle at Bristol be annual?

I own a campground across the street from the track. So I for one LOVE this idea. I hope they do it every year in some capacity or another. But I do have one problem with it. I have to find people to run the campground while my entire normal staff is at the game. Not a bad problem to have though.

The second time around, I want the Food City 500 and TN-VT game to go on simultaneously. lol

We could have a VT, WV, UK, TN battle for Appalacia every year, that would be cool. Would fit right in with our 9 SEC game schedule.

Why not? Its the biggest college football game in the world. Just imagine how much this rivalry would increase. Forget the Florida and Alabama rivalry as our biggest rivals. Alabama and Florida already have Auburn, FSU, and UGA as their biggest rivals. I want somebody that is equal in talent and stability to make a competitive rivalry. I feel as thou Virginia Tech is that team. Viriginia Tech is similar to Tennessee as of the past 20-30 years. They have a one sided rivalry in Virginia as we do in Tennessee. Vandy doesnt deserve to be our number one rival.

So what do you guys think? Is there a way we can make this happen?

not IMO.

too costly to setup.

ticket prices cannot be sustained over time.

It may not sell out one time let alone on a yearly basis.

Takes away revenue from Knoxville..

it is a unique one time occurrence

Yes, of course it will be an annual event. If BMS makes money even when there are no races going on, then they will host the Battle at Bristol annually for some teams. Maybe Labor Day weekend?

It is all about the $$$. Maybe we won't give up a home game every year for it, but there will be a game played every year.

Chik-fil-A was a success on Labor Day weekend and you notice that it is now played every year. We played NC State there in 2011!!!!

There was a time when we has an annual game in Memphis -- playing Ole Miss, Tiger high but also teams like Kansas (game Eddie Brown got his teeth knocked out blocking a punt) and UCLA

The premise was that UT was the team for the entire state. Would be nice to have a game in Bristol and boost the economy and reward the fans in upper east TN that drive 100 miles to Knoxville for the games

I don't know why, but the thought of playing the game at BMS doesn't excite me at all. The fans will be so far away from the field...I just get the feeling there will be a real sense of disconnect. Hope I am wrong.
