If TN gets 9 wins (which is 1 more than I am predicting but I think is very possible) and they start to pick up the following guys added to what they have will it be enough for the mythical recruiting NC?

Damien Robinson,
James Stone
TJ Leifhet
on OL
One RB either Dyer, Lattimore or Seastrunk
One more WR either Cobbs or Prater
Bray at QB
Ego Ferguson or Ronald Powell at DE
George Uko at DT
Josh Shirley (I think likely) or Luc (I think possible but unlikely)
Dietrich Riley at safety.

If our last 10 players include these guys are we a number 1 class?

I don't see us having a "#1 ranked" class this year mostly because of our need for linemen this year, but that doesn't matter to me. We had the "#1 ranked" class in 2005 and look where it got us.

we would have to lost about 5 of our 3 star commitments and upgrade them with 4 star gusy to even have a chance

I don't give a damn if its ranked number one or not but I will take everything in your scenario right now no questions asked!

Speaking of that, isnt Fulton & Taylor expected to be upgraded to 4 starts by seasons end?

I'd say there's a good chance of that happening. They're both a 5.7 rating on Rivals, which is just one notch below 4* status.

Our #1 class in 2005 had TWO losing seasons.

Unfair to tag them with those losses. Look at the two classes that were between them, terrible. You cant recruit one season great and the next not at all.

Alabama has 2 #1 classes in a row now, think they will have a losing season? Want to bet they dont have 2 losing seasons before they are gone?

What about USC with their #1 classes, how many losing seasons have they had?

Waiting.

I will answer the question. Yes if we got all of those guys especially Prater + Lache + Luc then there is no way its not the number 1 class.

Will it happen? No but I think your question was if.

That would give us 6 4* recruits if they get bumped up. Thats pretty freaking good still having a full 5 months to add more players.

I think there's a good chance that at least 2 of the 3 JUCOs currently committed will also be 4*.

Realistically there is not much difference between the #1 class and the # 5 class. I think one is as good as the other. What matters is whether or not they are the right guys for the program and if they can be coached to their potential.

I don't think we will, but if we did pick up those guys, we would have about 3 5*'s, 11 4*'s, and 8 3*'s.

Last year's top class, according to Rivals was Bama's class, which comprised of: 4 5*'s, 14 4*'s, and 9 3*'s. The #2 class was LSU's with 4 5*'s, 11 4*'s, and 9 3*'s.

Those are similar numbers to what we would have, but slightly better, so I think our class would finish around 3rd.

Like I said though, I don't think it would happen. With our needs, I think a top 5 finish would be outstanding, but the top 10 would still be very good.

We had 2 five stars last year, and still only managed to get the #10 class. We have a decent shot of making the top 5 on Scout cuz we are already #11 there. But the way Rivals has a bias in their rankings, it will be hard for UT to get in the top 5...
