To Worley?

Since his lack of confidence seems to be part of his problem, after Peterman's meltdown, Worley shouldn't have to look over his shoulder unless CBJ decides to go with a true freshman QB. I just don't see Peterman being a threat at all this season.

The best thing to help the teams confidence was to win

What the team needs is a win against an opponent they are suppose to lose to

Worley made a few plays, looked better than Peterman. He still isn't very good though. If Ferguson or Dobbs is anywhere near ready.. After the October beat down fest i'd go with which ever one is my future.. Worley isn't the future.. He gives us the best chance to win games right now, so let him play until the season is lost..

If I were Peterman, I'd be looking for a new school, don't think he'll ever see the field at UT again. From that standpoint, it could help Worley.

As much as I don't think Worley is the future of our program either, I definitely give him kudos for keeping his composure after inheriting a 14 point deficit and at least putting together a few drives to keep us from getting blown out. I think he played more relaxed after realizing the coaches made a huge mistake and knowing Peterman wouldn't see the field again.

I don't know jack about throwing technique, but everytime Worley throws it looks like he is throwing a baseball from left field to home plate without his feet set. He is obviously inaccurate. Shouldn't the coaches try to correct this or is he Tim Tebow uncorrectable?

Throws off his back foot a lot. Those passes tend to sail. It's going to be a long year.

One positive I was taking away is that we now know that Worley is better than Peterman. Fans shouldn't be calling for the backup anymore.

Mechanics for Worleys throwing motion are totally off. But, he is better than Peterman. Worley gets us through Bama. Then play the kids and wait til next year, again.

It looked like the D played better and gave us chances to be in the game. I am hoping Worley takes command now at least for this year. For all of VN, we can't start Dobbs or Ferguson with games against Georgia, Bama and USCe looming.

After those it gets easier.

Worley has some issues with mechanics other then that he isn't that bad. Mechanics are fixable.....

for some strange reason i could see him having a confidence boost because of his security as the starter. as long as he gets better each week and the rest of the team does as well.

The best thing about the game is that VN want be asking for Worley to be replaced by Peterman. If either one of the Freshmen even get a shot it will probably be Ferg not Dobbs. I don't see a Freshman playing unless Worley gets hurt though.

I think Worley made some real progress in the game yesterday. The seam pass he hit to Croom was the best throw i have seen him make yet. And that will build confidence. When he steps into his throws he has a good enough arm and accuracy to get us into a bowl. And actually i think he played with some swagger. Young receivers coupled with a inexperienced qb makes the offense sputter. Not to mention playing against one of the best defenses in the country.

When we get a dual threat QB the run game will take shape...when we get a Qb that understands the offense we will improve...when we get a Qb that learns how to better read defenses and a Lin that knows how to run block we will get better....I will bet that the CBJ offensive scheme is only about 25% installed....between that and youth at WR it's going to take time....2 years...

We get better every game because the players understand and have bought into the coach and staff...

Things that stand out is that this team does not quit....we don't have the talent to sustain...

Peterman staying in yesterday was a disaster but I think coach was giving him a chance to overcome his mistakes and to show that he had the mental ability to do it....He didn't.

Also we kept a tight leash on him....

Worley goes in as a starter and maybe a different play is called or he reads....nothing is going to be as fast as what we saw in Oregon.....communication was vital well our first play was not communicated very well.

Since some people seemed to think that Tebow's throwing motion could be fixed, but whenever he gets into a game he seemd to revert to his old habits. That was what I was asking if anyone thought Worley could change his throwing motion at this late stage in his career or if he, like Tebow, is unfixable. I would like him to succeed and have a great career, but why haven't the coaches corrected his mechanics or have they tried and he reverts to his old habits under pressure.

Vol fans are just going to have to grin and Bare it, after all we can't just replace the whole team at one swoop. This year may indeed seem like 3 years or more, when all is said and done.

hopefully maggitt can get back in a few weeks and give the d more speed from the outside at lb.
