Could yesterday's game be the best thing that could happen

When we get a dual threat QB the run game will take shape...when we get a Qb that understands the offense we will improve...when we get a Qb that learns how to better read defenses and a Lin that knows how to run block we will get better....I will bet that the CBJ offensive scheme is only about 25% installed....between that and youth at WR it's going to take time....2 years...

We get better every game because the players understand and have bought into the coach and staff...

Things that stand out is that this team does not quit....we don't have the talent to sustain...

Peterman staying in yesterday was a disaster but I think coach was giving him a chance to overcome his mistakes and to show that he had the mental ability to do it....He didn't.

Also we kept a tight leash on him....

Worley goes in as a starter and maybe a different play is called or he reads....nothing is going to be as fast as what we saw in Oregon.....communication was vital well our first play was not communicated very well.

Pretty spot on. Honestly I think Peterman is done at UT unless he has the force of will to shake this off and work harder than he ever has.

Also, I think Worley's play was actually improved. Hopefully, he keeps improving all year and turns into a decent QB

If I were Peterman, I'd be looking for a new school, don't think he'll ever see the field at UT again. From that standpoint, it could help Worley.

Yeah i hate to say this but Jones probably just ruined this kid. He will never live that performance down. Starting a freshman in the swamp was a terrible decision. He didn't look real good against Austin Peay, I just couldn't imagine him looking better against Florida!

I don't know jack about throwing technique, but everytime Worley throws it looks like he is throwing a baseball from left field to home plate without his feet set. He is obviously inaccurate. Shouldn't the coaches try to correct this or is he Tim Tebow uncorrectable?

That's a spot on observation GlockVol. Worley's problem isn't in his head or his arm it's in his feet. If you watch the replays of the games, he throws a pretty good ball when he's got time to set himself in the pocket and go through his progressions. It's when he's pressured and has to move that his throws get wonky. He's not a mobile QB, he's a pocket passer and our O-Line needs to do more protect him. It would also help if our running game could step up so that teams couldn't pressure Worley as easily.

BS.

Every player wants to play, he was given a chance and it didn't work out this time. He now knows what he needs to do to get better and I think he's dedicated enough to work hard and improve. He isn't "ruined."

I bet you can't wait to see him get back out there, can you?

Not any time soon but he better be ready if and when Worley gets hurt.

Think about that one. . .

The best thing for Worley is to learn to throw of the right foot. After the pick you could see CBJ telling him to plant his feet.

It looked like the D played better and gave us chances to be in the game. I am hoping Worley takes command now at least for this year. For all of VN, we can't start Dobbs or Ferguson with games against Georgia, Bama and USCe looming.

After those it gets easier.

Don't think Dobbs or Ferguson would make a difference in Win/Loss if they were put in. Really do not think it is worth it to sacrifice a redshirt year. Either of them (and heard from a player it will be Ferguson over Dobbs although Dobbs was my fav) could start next year. You have rest of season. God willing bowl game and extra practice, strength training, spring ball, fall camp.. lot of time for one of them to get acclimated.

Only reason I see either starting is if Worley goes down.

Remember when Worley was recruited and there was talk that he was just a "system QB" at his school?..

I feel like if ferguson is better than Worley, it'd be worth it to burn his redshirt and play him.

We only need to RS one QB.
