Court storming solution

Instead of the fine going to NCAA, what if it went to the school that got "stormed". What school would want to give a rival 250,000 dollars. Not anyone I hope.
I would rather the school that got stormed get it than the NCAA. Storming the court is much more dangerous than a football field. Courts are so close and there is nowhere to get away that fast. A football field there is more room to navigate.

The fine does go to the opposition school in SEC conference games. In non-conf it goes to the SEC to fund non-athletic scholarships.

Fines are $100,000 for a first offense, $250,000 for a second offense and $500,000 for a third and subsequent offenses.

For conference games, fines are paid to the opposing institution. For nonconference games, fines are deposited into the SEC Post-Graduate Scholarship Fund.

if the question is how to stop court stormers... I like the Anton Chigurh method

The much more obvious solution is to ask to delay the court storming until the teams go to the lockerroom, and have the teams go immediately in those situations. 10-15 second delay and then let the crowd go nuts. I think it’d be agreeable to the fans.

I get there is a certain risk at fans storming the court, but this whole situation with Duke seems overblown. If you saw the face of Filipowski as he was helped off the floor, you would have expected his leg was blown off. He perfectly fine with no limp and didn't even undergo any type of intense examination.

Sounds like Duke is butt hurt and using this as a means to deflect their loss.

I'm still more concerned with Bammers Burton punching a petite college girl. That didn't Garner nearly the same amount of attention

That ain't ½ the beating that Duke got on the court during game time last year in the NCAA tourney. That was more like a felony assault!

I’m not a fan of court storming or field storming as it basically honors the opponent you just beat more than it does your own team …in my opinion. But I do understand the emotion of the fanbase sometimes. It may just be me, but in the Duke video it almost looked like Flip was tripping somebody when he got hurt and even in the video it did not appear to be that he got hit that hard. JMO. I agree …it seems like it’s greatly overblown but if that had happened to the Vols I’m sure I would feel the opposite 🤷‍♂️.

Wake Forest was not prepared for it so let's end a tradition that's gone on for centuries. Seems like an over reaction. I think if it's a possibility you stage security around the opposing team and rush them off the court.

He clearly tries to trip the kid going by, misses, goes to shove him instead, fails and flails.

Hate to be Devil's Advocate here but what if that would've been Knecht or Aidoo caught up in that court storming and accidentally got injured.

The mood of this board would be madder than hell, it's not about oh it's Duke, it's about players safety in the future.

I know it hardly ever happens, though would you want to chance it being one of Tennessee's players?

My thing is safety in general. For everyone involved. It’s flat out dangerous and only a matter of time before someone gets really hurt.

Every year, people die from this sort of thing at soccer games or concerts. Trampled, crushed or suffocated.
