craigslist ticket scam

I've successfully listed a few things for sale on Craigslist over the years here in Houston but it's a pain in the butt because you start getting spam texts within minutes of posting the listing. You just have to be patient and wait for a real buyer. It's a little harder when you are the buyer. I wouldn't trust anyone on there if not face-to-face.

Folks, why would you use Craig’s List when you can use Stub Hub and get their guarantee?

Probably all the extra fees and price sensitivity. But I won't do CL or FB Mkt unless I'm meeting in person.

Vols,
I wanted to share this with you, so you won't make the same mistake I did. Yeah, I was an idiot and got scammed on craigslist Vandy tickets. I even talked to the 'scammer' on the phone as he promised to transfer the tickets, then proceeded to ghost me. Transaction through Venmo Request (friends and family mode, doh), so goodbye money.

I guess I was too trusting. Anyway I'm going to be a jerk back to this person and post his phone number here for reference so others can search this number for scams in future. I'm also going to post the persons venmo acct. If you feel compelled to reach out to this person and give them the Vol spirit, I wouldn't object.

scammers #: 423-603-4639
venmo @winwintt44

Go Vols!

it is a cell number serviced by Onvoy Spectrum, no name but not a VOIP number . A VOIP number is what you should always avoid. Next time making any transactions run a check on their number and see if matches name they gave you, if it comes back name not given stay away.
I always tell them to send me photo of them holding their ID or drivers license. If they will not conversation is over.

First use; numlookup.com, and if need deeper investigation use; intellius.com it will find anyone but of course for a fee.
How do I know? Because I’ve made same dumb mistakes.
