This will sound crazy, but honestly I'm at a lost on the Officials performance in every one of our games so far this year. This is especially difficult to even say, because I officiated for many years, and would laugh if someone ever said this to me (back then). Is it possible, someone in the SEC Administrative anarchy is not happy with our NCAA punishment? Are we being punished on the field?

I told you it is a crazy thought, but the officiating has been SOOOOOOO bad, I'm at a loss. I can't even begin to think this could happen, but in today's crazy world, who knows.
It's not just been SEC games it's been all games. People focus on Florida and Bama because we lost but we got bad calls consistently in all games this year especially non-calls on PI and questionable holding calls.
My theory is, that the wide splits and fast pace are affecting officials also. It was a thing last year also but again was less noticed because we came out on top more often than not in spite of it.

They should be in better shape. If you are hired to call a game you should have the ability to change with the game. This isnt the 90s or early 2000s or Kentucky where you are running 1 play every 3 minutes.
I hear you but not many 35-40 yr olds are in the same shape as 18-23yr olds.

Edit- most officials are in their 40’s or older.

I think the game is moving to fast. There has to be a ref dedicated to each portion....1 or 2 watching the line, 1 on each sideline perhaps.. 2 or 3 on the sidelines following recivers....then 2 following the ball and tackle...not sure. But something's gotta give. Either let them play or call the penalties..
Doesn’t explain how they see the penalties on one team but not on their opponents. Speed should make them equally bad not the one sided bias as we have seen in many games….

Seriously, there are a dozen boo-hoo threads about the refs. They sucked just like every week. They were trash on TSIO and have been. They were dogshit like last week, this week, and they will be next week. Time to move on and stop being babies about the refs.

Tennessee got their tails whooped by Alabama for the entire second half of the game. They bullied every person on that field that Tennessee had. That's the what happened. No flags could have been thrown on the red zone drives that resulted in 3 points or less, the fumble 6, the 4 unanswered scores in the second half, or the dead offense. Same for Florida. The refs didn't lose that game. Tennessee got mollywhopped.
I'm not gonna boohoo too much because Bama did have their way with us in the 2nd half but your comments above are not true. You don't have to go more than 60 seconds into the 3rd quarter to dispell it. 2nd play of the half - you might remember they scored on a deep pass play and I'll say there's a good chance of a sack on that play by Baron without the little "touch foul" that wasn't called. He clearly beat his man on that play.

You can say what you want to make you feel better, but the game I watched was clearly crap being held like our guys were repeatedly caused them to be bullied. If you agree with the lack of calls then you have that right, for the million post complaining about the refs they have that right also.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I sometimes wonder if CJH is in their ears too much, or if he says some disrespectful stuff and makes them mad. That would annoy the crap out of me if I were calling the game.
If CJH was saying disrespectful things to the refs, they deserved every bit of it. They were doing everything but actually “calling” the game.

While they may deserve it, it can’t help the team to piss off the man with the yellow hanky

They already do that . . . but I think your original point is very valid. It's just getting harder and harder to effectively officiate the game and you're seeing the gap widen between the part time officials and the elite athletes. I don't think it's a grand conspiracy. It's just a sign of the times. Officiating all that action is just getting harder as the athletes get bigger and faster and more teams are using the entire field and going as fast they can.
I do agree with some of what you are saying about the fast play. As a ref myself I don't get upset when I see something missed in the interior of the line, when 8-10 big boys get together its hard to see exactly everything that 3 or 4 sets of big guys are doing every second. What burns me is when an edge rusher or an interior D lineman gets deep penetration in the backfield and an obvious penalty is missed. At that point those two players are beyond the rest of the line and more visable. This shouldn't be missed.

Yes, because saying my favorite team got their ass beat by my least favorite makes me feel better when compared to complaining about the officiating.
Yes, you can cry all you want to about it. Nobody can stop you. That is completely your right, but to me, finger pointing and moaning about refs several days after a football game is pathetic for anyone close to adulting in life.
