Mine as well give it up man, what I’ve surmised over the past few years on here is the general feeling is we are lowly Tennessee, no coach would ever come here in any program and you should just be happy with whatever mediocrity you get because again, we are Tennessee and we are the lowest of lows. I wish I were kidding but this is the actual position most on here take. There will always and has always been an excuse for everything that goes on with the sports programs here. There is no expectation of excellence. It stinks but it is what it is. Just watch as I get blasted by like 15 coach crusaders in the next hour or so.

Sad aint it. Don't expect better or complain about what can be fixed.

We've fought wars so people in this country could belly ache. I don't cotton to the panty waists that think we should shut people up by boycotting and censorship. So take a pill Bill.

Every historical statistic backs that up. Texas has more tournaments, more final fours, more second weekends, more wins overall, and better all time win percentage. And TX produces much better recruits than TN. Almost all the good players in TN are in Memphis and they end up going to Tiger High.

Lost 2 3year starting seniors. Lost his 2 best returning players unexpectedly to the draft. Started the year with his 3rd best returning player playing injured then ending the season for surgery. His 4th best returning player unexplainable lost his shooting stroke that he’s consistently displayed for 3 prior seasons. These facts aren’t disputable by anyone being reasonable.

Basically playing with a completely new team one of which showed up in January. He’s coached up 2 prior role players into solid SEC posts and he’s trying to get all the freshmen to contribute.

If you’re going to be critical, then about the only complaint of CRB could be “why didn’t he have a class full of one and done types like Duke or KY since he knew he was losing 4 of his top 6 after the draft”. If you think UT is a program that can simply reload every year then you’re not being realistic

I’ll agree with what your saying. I do find it odd though that everyone wants to bring up the facts that he turned some 3 star guys in grant and admiral into draft picks and I agree, kudos to him for that. No one wants to give him any blame for our senior completely regressing in his 4th year. Maybe it isn’t Barnes fault but if he gets credit for making grant and admiral studs shouldn’t he get the blame for Bowden? Just seems it should go both ways.

Texas Tech? They don’t even have the history we do in b-ball yet somehow they were in the final 4, it’s not some impossible feat that many on here try to make it seem.

It was literally just inferred in this thread.

That is accurate, if he misses this year then next year becomes very important...I don’t fault him for the first 2 years as I think any coach would’ve struggled, but getting the program stable and from that point consistently dancing was my expectation. Need to recruit better, which they appear to be doing, and continue developing guys and depth to avoid situations like this year going forward.

Bowden has had a way better career than just about anyone could’ve predicted, what was his ranking again? Not sure he’s the evidence you wanna use.
