JJJ and Vescovi have provided leadership this season as well as rebounds, assists and stellar defense.
I am very impressed by how those two completely embrace Knect's role as a scorer and one who is going to get all the glory. Go back and watch our games from last year Vescovi is the number one scoring option. I don't even think you made a field goal tonight and probably only took one or two shots at most. Can't be overstated the mentality of a true team where no one cares who gets the credit as long as the team succeeds. Credit to all these young men and to some seriously good coaching. This is what champions look like!

I have been critical of RB on occasion and justifiably so, because of his unwillingness to adapt. I don't know if it's because of DK or not ( I suspect it is) but RB has adapted his coaching philosophy this season, and it has paid off. If he continues doing so, this team has a legit chance to win it all. Upmost respect for the job he, his staff, and players have done this year. GO VOLS!

As an NCAA Division One Level Coach for 37 years (At George Mason; Providence; Clemson; Texas; & Tennessee) Rick Barnes has won at least 30 games in 31 different seasons. His teams have made 28 NCAA Tournaments.

Now, with 803 career wins, there in no denying that He is one of the MOST consistent winning coaches in all of college basketball. (Yeah, I know critics: - Sweet 16’s - Elite 8’s - One Final Four - Blah - Blah - Blah….) But, the man is a Damn Good Coach! — And I appreciate what he has done for Tennessee! I would just love to see him go out On Top!!! — Wouldn’t we ALL!

GO VOLS!!!!!

There was just video on SportsCenter of Barnes telling the team that when they get together and celebrate the championship 25 years from now that he hopes to be there to join them. Don’t worry haters. He didn’t say while he was the still the UT coach.

It is a reflection of their coach.

This program owes Barnes an immense debt. Unbelievable coach and person. I don’t even want to imagine what it will be like when he hangs it up. Let’s just savor it while he’s around.
No doubt. CRB looks good wearing "net".

I’ve followed the Vol basketball program since the late 80s. There have been some decent runs (Green, Bruce), but Barnes has been as good or better as any during that time.

If you are a Vol basketball fan, do not ever take consistently ranked Top-10 teams for granted. Trust me, there have been many years where we had no chance of even sniffing the NCAA Tournament.

Rick Barnes has done an outstanding job here!

CRB has done what I believe is his best job here yet with this group. The defense is its usual lockdown level, and maybe even better because of having special defensive talents like ZZ, JJJ, Vesci and Shack, and an elite rim protector like Aidoo.

But what separates this year's job is having his first elite offensive player since Durant in DK. Watching the improvement of his overall play and the refinement of the offensive sets and actions over the course of the season has been nothing short of amazing. He's had some great teams at UT, but this is the first group that I see as a really serious national championship contender. Please make it happen.

Barnes is showing what he is really capable of with top level talent, with individual player development as well as the team concepts. This will hopefully lead to more elite level players seeing UT as a place to take their own games to the next level.

Couple of shout-outs for Barnes and the staff:

1. They've appeared to adjust how they use the timeouts and I think it's helped slow a couple of runs the opponents are making.
2. I love how they adapted to DK being double-teamed by having him pass quickly out of it and take advantage of the "power-play" we have with 4 on 3. South Carolina, if I remember correctly, didn't double him off the isolation plays last night and that is probably due to how we beat the double-team at 'Bama.
3. Barnes seems to have mellowed this year and not be in as many player's faces as he has been in recent years (altho I do think he was about ready to choke Gainey at one point during the first half last night).

Love how this staff has adapted and coached these guys up over the years!!
