Given that he's been coached all spring by that coaching icon David Mini-Fulmer, I figure he's leaving college to wait until he's eligible for the NFL Draft. No reason to risk injury. Merely having been coached by Mini-Fulmer for a couple of months should assure him of being a top 5 pick.(kptvol @ May 17 said:I heard that Hardegree has been given the 2nd spot in the QB order. Is this true? If so, what happened to Crompton?
(kptvol @ May 17 said:Hardegree doesn't have much of an arm. In the orange and white game, he threw a deep pass that really hung in the air a while, with very little zip. You could tell it was going to be picked off. Wade saw it coming, stopped and tied his shoelaces, then stood up and made the INT.
You down on Coach Cutcliffe? I like him and consider him one of the best OC and QB mentors in the country.(So apparently did Charlie Weiss). Maybe you should just sit out this season.(hatvol96 @ May 17 said:Given that he's been coached all spring by that coaching icon David Mini-Fulmer, I figure he's leaving college to wait until he's eligible for the NFL Draft. NegaVols is a good one beef, it almost beats out fulmerites (VolBeef88 @ May 18 said:There are so many reasons this may have happened. BUt first let me say that I hope Bo has improved to the point that if we need him he can step in. That guys, is a good thing. Even you NegaVols should agree with that.
But another thing is that sometimes with young qb's (esp. when you have a def starter for a 2 years ahead of them) you put the 3rd guy in front of them to push them even harder.
(oklavol @ May 17 said:Based on what I've read on another board, supposedly Crompton's recovery from shoulder surgery is going to take 2 years-this coming from one of his parents.
Thats the reason Hardegree is being groomed to the no. 2 starter, Cromptons won't be available, or fully recovered from surgery.
Which means its Ainge all the way unless he gets hurt. If he gets hurt like he did when he was a freshmen, a long season, and Fulmer will be under more heat then ever.
(Vol423 @ May 18 said:That's interesting. The last I saw, Crompton's mom was saying that he was fully recovered and ready to go. Also, he didn't seem to have any problems in Spring practice.
Source??? That would certainly be news to most of us.
(orangewizard98 @ May 18 said:oklavol, you have never been told that by one of his parent. That is lie, my friend. I have spoke with his parents on more than one occassion and he is fully recovered from his injury. Absolutely 100%. You should be ashamed for making such a post. He was cleared 100% before spring practice, he had no problems during spring practice, he has had no problems since spring practice, and no problems are expected from now on regarding this particualr injury.
