%#$@ it. Good luck Jon, hoping for a speedy recovery. And there goes the freaking will Crompton start arguments.

Tennessee freshman quarterback Jonathan Crompton is unlikely to be available
this season and is scheduled for surgery on his right throwing shoulder next
month, two sources confirmed Tuesday to the News Sentinel.

Our depth at QB could be a major problem now if God forbid something happens to Ainge or Clausen. :banghead:

If your two best QB's get injured in the same season, you've got bigger problems than depth at that position.

Well theres the redshirt!
If we need more than 2 QB's again this season, It just wasnt meant to be. Could the tendinitis have been mis-diagnosed, and its a possible rotator cup injury?

What's the deal with UT and QB shoulder injury?? Man, sorry to hear...I like to see the local NC boys do well and I'm sure he'll be back to have a good career at UT.

While I agree and it is unlikely, it happened last year.

Hmm, tought loss. Still wanna make that bet beltway? , tough break for you guys, but he wouldnt have seen much pt anyway. The way I see it, its a good thing. He can get a medical redshirt this season, and next season redshirt. And then lose only one year of eligibility (if Ainge stays all 4 years) as long as it doesnt affect his ability to play, i see it as a positive.

MRI showed torn labrum, exploratory surgery needed to pove it is that and to see how bad
If slight 3-4 months recovery
If major 6-8 months recovery

someone might want to go check on beltway. He may be crying his pants off right now.

OR maybe Beltway is out working for a living, and just got home.

I received the same text message on my phone today.

I hate it bad for Jon. He was REALLY looking forward to this season and the chance to compete. He will be ok.

As for the bet, you're damn right I will still make it. The bet was that Ainge would not start the first game, and I still don't think he will. I think Clausen will start.

I'll be ok everyone, thanks for the "concern". :p

I am betting that Clausen may start but will at least play in the UAB game.

I believe that as well.
Even if the next month or so Ainge is named starter, Id almost bet Rick runs the first play of the first O series. Sounds dumb, but it would give him a good on the field look at the D sets and movement.
In return better input to the box, and CPF & CRS?
I dont think its a diss towards Ainge, if anything better sideline advice, plus gives him an extra series to calm himself and get his mentality in order. None of us want to see a dropped snap, or a forced pass, going the other direction. Just IMO

Then come on in BHAMVOLFAN.

The bet is, who starts game 1 for the vols. I think its Ainge, Beltway (and i guess you too) think its Clausen.

Im still waiting for Beltway to come up with the terms, but im thinking something like winner gets to pick out losers sig for x amount of time, or something like that. But its up to him.

I gotta say its gunna be Ainge. Althought Cromptons injury is a bad thing for him, as for the program, that'll just another year we will have his services. I understand how HORRIFIC the depth chart looks. (esp. after Bo's throw on that out route that Hef took the other way)......but hopefully we will have a luck year with no injuries :cross:

Last season was brutal for us. 10-3
Injuries was freak'ish and often.
I wont say i came on here predicting BS would transfer, but felt like it was going to happen long before the Sc game. Point is, have your back up well prepaired to step in. Even if the #1 man takes a stinger and needs to clear his head a play or 2 , Be confident #2 could just as easy be the #1 and run the Off with out a hitch.
Start digging for plays #3 can run, and call it a building season!
Nothing but game time will mature a back up, any position.
We lost Ainge and Rick, Ill sleep screaming Cooter!

I would hate to think what would happen if JBC actually DID hafta take snaps. Could u imagine what ESPN **reesee cup davis esp.** would do with that one. However, with the way alot of people across the country look at us...i think it would be even that much more sweet. I could see the headlines now ****Cocks Go Down at the Hands of Cooter**** LOL

I prefer monatary bets, but the sig thing never works because when I win the bet, and especially after Florida gets embarrassed by Tennessee at home, you won't post here anymore, so it's useless to have your signature contain something.

C'mon guys.

There's no way Ainge isn't the starter against UAB. Clausen looked terrific against Vandy and Kentucky, but their secondaries were atrocious. The only two real teams he played against were Notre Dame and Auburn, and he looked awful against both.

And yes, he was solid against A&M in the bowl game, but 1) the receivers made some ridicoulous plays, and 2) A&M's turnovers set us up with easy scores. I love Clausen. I love his attitude, his intelligence, and his ability to put the ball into the hands of our athletes to make plays.

That being said, he didn't beat Florida and Alabama, he didn't beat Ole Miss and Georgia on the road, and he didn't start nor play last season over two freshmen until they were both lost for the season. Now one of those freshmen is healthy and more seasoned as a sophomore, yet all of the sudden Clausen starts? I really, really doubt it. I think we'll be fine with either one of them against the blazers, but Clausen can't stretch the field like Ainge can. Fulmer knows it, and you better believe Charlie Strong at Florida knows it.
