Crompton likely out for the season

I have come to the point that I hate the word INJURY. Every time a sportscaster uses the term or I see it in a headline, I just automatically assume it is a U.T. athlete. I would almost be willing to bet that we lead the nation in injuries to athletes...probably isn't even close...

milo, you need to check that out...we don't even have to wait until they get to campus...I just hold my breath during these TENN/KY and FLA/GA type high school all-star games.

I simply do not understand why we have SO MANY injuries. I would love to know how we rank with other schools...so go to it milo!

No kidding. It sickens me to hear another team complain about being "bit by the injury bug." Anyone remember 2002? Unbelievable.

I always wonder if it's something we're doing wrong at practices/training, or if it's just plain ole bad luck.

Then again, it could just be that I don't really follow how many injuries other teams really have, and ours always stick out more. It could be a "the grass is always greener" kind of scenario.

On a sidenote, can we ban our players from pick-up basketball games?

OK OK, let's settle down! Losing not one, but TWO starting quarterbacks is a misfortune that most teams never have to face in a season. Back-to-back years would make me think that God had forsaken His beloved Vols. Realistically, how many teams in the country are "3 deep" with quality at QB? For that matter, how many teams have a "one-two" punch that we're looking at -- Ainge returning with high expectations, and Clausen, a team captain, with the proven leadership of a HUGE bowl win?

Oh, and for those who are interested, the "labrum" is the cartilage covering over the shoulder socket where the humerus (upper arm bone) attaches. The "glenoid fossa" or "shoulder socket" is much smaller than the head of the humerus, so the labrum acts to "deepen" the socket for stability.

And yes, he was solid against A&M in the bowl game, but 1) the receivers made some ridicoulous plays, and 2) A&M's turnovers set us up with easy scores.

Texas A&M's pass defense was on the same level as Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

I'll look into the injury thing, see if University of Tenderknee is the worst-off.

This is the first time since 93 I have missed a show and after reading the setlist I'm glad I sold them. Hate to give up 8th row tix but I am going to DCI in Murph. so I decided to save the money. :(

I can't believe I have been away from the great Vol Nation all this time and come back to this news. Mna, that sucks, but look at it from a long term standpoint, next yeat Crompton will be a redshirt freshman.

I like to keep my avatar fresh -- Dave will come back around soon, I'm sure. My first show was in '93, I believe -- at 328 Performance Hall in Nashville with about 200-300 people there. That and the '94 show at the World's Fair Park were my favorites. Bonnaroo was good, too. I have been pretty disappointed at the "arena" shows.

awesome......yeah....the new set was good, but not near as good as i thought. I made a highlight video of the vols last season and the opening segment is set to "two step"....and a tribute to neyland is set to "Warehouse". Haha....prolly two things that matter the most to me.....Dave and the Vols.....figured I couldnt get any better. Just sucks that dave assoc. himself with something called BAMA RAGS! haha.
