I guess I just don't understand the "he doesn't have a degree" arguement. So what? He's a baseball coach...and a proven winner at it. It's his job...and he's one of the best. You guys do know that Bill Gates, Michael Dell and Steve Jobs all dropped out of college right? Would you want your son to work directly under them? I thought so. If a kid coming out of HS on a baseball scholarship to a D1 university needs his coach to remind him to take classes, there's a serious problem there. The University has people to take care of that....they have study tables, etc. The guy is a baseball coach...it's a full time job. He's not a babysitter...a teacher or a study hall monitor. I really can't believe all the hype this is getting. My former boss who is a multi-millionaire didn't graduate from HIGH SCHOOL....but owns 3 companies, 2 planes and employees 40+ people. The players are in college....they're adults. There are plenty of people employed by the college to help them get an education....the baseball coach is employed to coach them in baseball. I say get the best available coach...degree or not.
