Crow Tasting Event Might Draw A Crowd

The fact that Harris is high on this new staff is good enough for me. He came to TN because of Pearl, yet he is thinking of staying because of the new staff and the workouts he is going through. I fully support Martin. We won't know for sure until we see what he does in recruiting and coaching next year, but at this point, it looks good.

I like Martin and support him, but I'm not ready to serve any crow until we actually play some games. Sheesh.

thread doesn't make any sense. Any vol fan that does not support coach martin is not a fan of the team or school. Fans hoping for a different hire are entitled to that opinion. Coach martin is doing all of the right things that need to be done. Talking to the recruits, attempting to get bodies to replace a diminished roster, working with harris and hopson, handling himself well with the returning kids, etc.

He has a big job in front of him, just like any mid-major coach making the jump to a big time conference would. I hope for the best but there could be a few growing pains that coach martin has no control over. But to bring up a 'crow' party is really not relevant to the matters at hand.

Well done.

Came back to Mo to visit. I have talked to several of my friends that are MU fans. All of them ask if they can trade coaches with UT. Q is a pretty popular choice around here. jmo

You guys best forget about Harris. He going pro. If Martin can talk him out of signing a multimillion dollar contract with the pros, than you will have to wonder if he has the best interest of his kids at heart.

That doesn't make sense.
One year under Zo and he's a top first round pick instead of a lower first or upper second.
Or god forbid zo should convince him to graduate. that would really be horrible.

With all Coach Martin and his stellar new staff are doing...it looks like a crow dinner will be in order for a lot of posters and fans!Perhaps a fund raising event hosted by all the ney sayers would draw a crowd and allow those folks to publicly purchase some forgiveness! The sale of "indulgences" sure raised a lot money for at least one organization.

Are we talking Mr. Ed?

Uh, nice assumption that his draft stock will rise that much.

With a possible lockout looming and his chance to return and be a potential lottery pick next year, I'm not sure trying to get him to return would be against his best interest.

It's really not worth discussing anything with him. His undying love for Pearl keeps him from bringing anything remotely rational to the board.

his post had nothing to do with Pearl.

If the kid is a top 15 pick and Martin persuades him to stay at UT, I'd agree in questioning whether CMM has the kid's best interest in mind.

I haven't seen Harris projected top 15, however, he has moved up to #19 on 2011 Mock Draft | NBADraft.net

I don't get how that one more year here would instantly turn him into a lottery pick anyway. He could get hurt, go cold, the draft class could turn out better, anything, but a lot of people think a year under Martin will make him all-pro.

Didn't see Scotty listed, I thought him leaving was a done deal?

Its not a done deal, but about as close to a done deal as you can get. He has all but hired an agent and IMO will either make a D-League roster if he goes undrafted, or will make a few hundred grand overseas and try to get another look by the NBA next season. He may feel that a year overseas may do a better job preparing him for the NBA than returning to UT. IDK

It's still squawking and flapping around. Can't eat what you can't catch.

Yep, I was negative on him at first but he is our coach so I will support him but if he fails within 3 years then he is a big belly flop, hired hired by the hamster.

With all of the one-and-dones who have decided to return to school, the 2012 draft class will be stronger. If he wants to be drafted as high as possible then 2011 would seem to be the year to go.
