Crowd at TBA

I wasn't there and I couldn't hear the crowd on TV , but I did hear the announcers on more than one occasion critisize the lack of enthusiasm from the home team crowd .

Sat. @ the forum the crowd was up cheering for most of the game . When it was a 6 point game and when it was a 20 pt game the crowd was up cheering . It was senior day and everyone was jacked up over that , but still it was loud .

I'm going to need to see your credentials before you make these kinds of statements. If you could please fax a copy of your season tickets invoices, it would be greatly appreciated.

You want my vehicle registration and credit report, too? :p

I can guarantee you that if the game was in another team's gym, it would've been louder. Tennessee fans are just lazy and I'm not just saying that because of today, it's always been a gripe of mine.

+1 i gripe about it almost every saturday in the fall comin home from the stadium. i blame it on the old ppl who do the golf clap and wouldnt stand unless they were givin something away for free. not all of em but alot of old ppl cause that

I was standing off the tip, and this guy comes up to me and says we have kids back here that cant see. I said have u ever attended a basketball game here, cause everybody stands till the first basket. He didnt say anything then or the rest of the game. Its people like this that piss me off.

The crowd was absolutely pathetic yesterday. There was no energy in the place in the first half. The crowd seemed more into the mascots musical chairs than the game. But for everybody that says students dont come thats a lie, cause they do, they sit down in the section beside the student section. They need to get off their lazy butts and cheer in the "student section."

I live in Nashville, and have season tix at vandy (hate vandy but the money is worth the entertainment). They have a smaller gym but during an sec game they are louder than we were yesterday. It was my first trip to TBA and i walked away disappointed with our performance, as fans and as a team.

Everyone that was there should be ashamed of themselves. Why come if you're going to watch it like you're at home and the kids have gone to bed?? Not that it matters now, but this is a team that feeds off energy from the crowd. Even at SC and FL the place was rocking and even though it wasn't towards the Vols, I still think they fed off of that energy.

I get sick of the old folks telling me to sit down or give me looks when I stand up and get a little excited to try and push this team along. Stay the hell home if you want to sit back and relax during the game.

We have a 20,000+ seat arena and I swear my old high school gym that barely seated a thousand showed more energy than what 20,000 have on a consistent basis this year. Look at the Florida game. The place was rockin and the team won by 15+.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to go to a game and cheer loudly for this team, and if you are one of the ones who likes to make going to games a social event or just go because everyone else is doing it, give your tickets to someone who wants them and stay the hell at home.

I love it when people tell others what to do with tickets they paid for. If all the clowns complaining about people not making enough noise minded their own business and concentrated on making more money, they could afford seats instead of waiting around for a handout from those who already foot the bill for the program.

Why should someone give you their tickets when there are plenty available for you to buy if you want to attend the game and yell and scream. Most everyone there payed $$ to be there so they are entitled to sit or stand, scream or be quiet, whatever floats their boat. I personally feel that if you want to stand and yell the whole game then that is your right to do so and if you want to sit the whole game that too is your right but if you are not happy with the crowd and their level of excitement then buy a ticket and come on to the game if you are within driving distance of TBA or Knoxville.

Our crowd was very weak today, but not just today the atmosphere at most of our games hasn't been very intimidating.

The thing that really bugs me is when people ask you to be quiet and sit down when you're cheering.

I had a guy do that to me at the Oklahoma St. game in Nashville a few year ago. It was during the most exciting part of the game and he was pretty much the only guy sitting down. He hit me on the back and I turned around and he gave the "sit down" motion. I gave him the "go fly a kite" look and ignored them. I don't necessarily want to stand the whole game, but come on, when the action is exciting, you stand up.

UT crowds stink, at least at Neyland and TBA. Obviously when both places are rocking they are some of the loudest places you will find, but too many times it's WAY too quiet for that many people in the places.

Point-counterpoint, Hat. Those of us who do attend most of the games have the same complaint. Nearly every game, I get a "request" to sit down or an annoyed look when I'm screaming.

I think that most of us can agree that our crowds could be a lot more energetic, right?
