Obama's and the Democratic Party's overzealousness in passing big-government legislation is going to bite them in the ass.

this is the exact issue that led to Clinton's emasculation. Thereafter, he was a decent chief.

I expected the American people to eventually turn on Obama and the Democrats, but I didn't think it would happen this quickly.

Explain how this gutless person was decent.
He didn't continue with UHC and he actually enacted some reasonable welfare reform. That's amazing for a guy of his bent with the shrew he has constantly in his ear.

You explain how he was gutless.

Sadly, W has shown why Clinton was a decent POTUS.

On the topic of this thread, I can only hope this type of thing is going on throughout the country. These morons in Congress need to hear from the people.

The US military and CIA had Bin Laden in the cross-hairs 3 times, Clinton would not permit the snipers to take him out.
Clinton also botched Mogodishu, wouldn't approve to send more helos and support. (watch Blackhawk down)

He never supported our military,..afterall he closed bases worldwide and let our military deteroriate.

*I'll agree with you on the welfare reform.

Clinton was a bust on several foreign policy fronts and on our intelligence system. Domestically, he did fine.

Most of Clinton "greatness" on domestic issues had to do with an opposition congress keeping him in check. Nevertheless, credit is due because he was the top guy in charge.

I've said over and over that his biggest failure was gutting our military and intelligence services. Aside from that, he generally governed from the center out of necessity. Congress wouldn't allow him his druthers. Don't forget, however, that they were also along for the ride on the military and intel takedowns.

The point on Obama takeout simply makes no sense to me. The guy didn't pose a huge threat and we probably couldn't justify assassination of a private citizen at that point. Hindsight, being 20/20, makes it more clear, but nobody in 1997 would have bought the idea that he was going to kill 3k Americans in one fell swoop. That's just a lame red herring by the now justifiably ostracized far right to help feel better about its plight.

He was briefed in '96 about al Quaeda plans on using US commercial aircraft as weapons against Americans, and did nothing

"Deriliction of Duty" is a great book by Buzz Patterson who carried the "football" (briefcase) for Clinton.

briefed on the possibility? how many briefings are there upon which no action can reasonably be taken?

Dereliction of Duty sounds like a very nice hatchet piece.

He was not booed because of health care. The crowd was taking him to task over,by their questions, him not reading and fully understanding the bill. after he stated that the bill was fully read and he understood it full only then would he vote on it. At which point he was cheered.

Bush was also briefed about an imminent threat from Al Queda in July '01, detailing using US commercial aircraft as weapons. He didn't do anything either.

It's easy to write a book about what should have been done with a situation a dozen years after the fact and make someone look incompetant. By no means am i a Clinton fan but the OBL thing is a stretch.

I would never use the word "great" :p

However, he stuck to the middle for the most part and these days that looks like a rousing success.
